its a build up of dirt and stuff in the base of the machine under the filters, remove filters, clean out grit from base clean filters and spray arms, stick on a rinse a couple of times,then put a dishwasher cleaner through it ,with certain dishwashers this common,you need to make sure you rinse plates and make sure salt is always topped up hope this is of help smartin

someone told me a while ago that some zanussi dishwashers suffer from irreverseable air locks, iv had 1 of those and ended up writing it off, hope this helps smartin

has it got a timer in base of machine if it has chances are that this is the problem had this befor when it wouldnt dry on full heat, hope this is of help smartin

david you didnt say when the smell appears ,wether on the drying cycle ,start or end of programme ? it would b helpfull in diagnosing it could b something as simple as a blocked stand pipe, smartin
