the metal bridge with the terminal on it is an earth, if you are left with 3 wires then 2 wires should b the same in colour which go on 1 terminal and the single on another hope this helps smartin

as bobhope said will prob b to do with relay take door lock apart an have a look inside an have a look will probably be a spring come loose have had a few of these and under the samsung guise as well hope this helps

u can get a water restrictor which fits inside valve, from memory a spare comes with a dispenser kit .

the chest freezer
this happened a few years ago,got a call from a panicky customer,can you send someone to fix my chest freezer plz everything is thawing iv got loads of food in it and i cant let it defrost,yes of course i saw someone can come round this afternoon, engineer turns up with a woman nearly in tears, soon diagnoses that compressor has gone and says to customer will b a few days before i can get back” NO she says cant ya do it today” then she goes on to explain that underneath the food was her dead pet great dane”he died a few years ago an i loved that dog, but i couldnt afford to get him stuffed so i put him in the freezer till i could” the engineer taking pity on her duly went and got said compressor and fixed it that evening thats got ta be the wierdest lol. also had a similar experience as to what was mentioned earlier about the lab, a blood factor 8 laboratory,dressing up in the gowns and shoes minus the showers tho lolRe: HOTPOINT wm
just another thought iv had this a few times in the past , only thing to cure it i found was fit high temp brushes , worth a thought in the future smartin

after fitting the stats though make sure there is no restrictions in the vent and also mofe importantly ALWAYS go through the cooling down sequence before turning off, otherwise they wont last to long smartin

normally i have found with these that the sump under the filter gets silted up due to the fact the plates are not rinsed off properely,or not pumping out fast enough,you need to clean the filters and under the filter in bottom, clean spray arms and make sure machine is pumping away quick enough, then put a dishwasher cleaner through it and 9 times out of 10 that will cure it. smartin
