If it’s been going on fast freeze by it’s self, it does sound like a PCB fault

If it runs non stop
and the fast freeze neon doesn’t work
and the interior lamp doesn’t work
Then its probably the PCB

ParticipantRe: miele 5426
I went to this model which had similar symptons. The fault was a faulty door interlock.

ParticipantRe: akz145 oven
I had the same problem after a power cut. So I ordered and fitted a new button, which made no difference.
The left hand knob, which needs to be in the off position, is attached to a potentiometer on the board, so I turned it quickly left and right continuesly for a couple of minets, and Hey Presto it worked.
So I think a dirty or greasy pot stopes it from working.

ParticipantRe: Engineers Inspection
If it’s the customer who wants the report, it’s because they want to claim off someone (either Currys, or the manufacture)
If it’s Currys who want the report, they are looking for reason not to pay out.
In this situation I would just state what you see, and quote for the repair. Don’t guess or speculate as to reason’s why it happened. And charge a full wack labour charge, or walk away. IMO

I cannot see why or how you can comply with “Construction Design & Management Regulations 2007”, our industry is domestic appliances, so I think you need to point this out to them. Don’t forget they are just estate agents and will have little idea of what are the correct procedures for your businessYou are correct. I phoned the estate agent, they said the CD&M Regs don’t apply (the form is a general one which covers building works)
To have a risk assesment is a good idea. I think the more red tape you can give them, and use 10 words instead of 1, is what they want to hear.
This HSE site is interesting http://www.hse.gov.uk/risk/fivesteps.htm
To quote “A risk assessment is simply a careful examination of what, in your work, could cause harm to people, so that you can weigh up whether you have taken enough precautions or should do more to prevent harm”

It’s probably the thermal fuse on the fan housing.
You can get one from JLA or Armstrongs

When lid is lifted when spinning it stops with big jolt that is prbably breaking coupling. If it stops with a big jolt, it’s usually because it has not reached full speed. (i.e. if you lift the lid too soon), it is also noticable when there is no load in the drum

Is the brake in the motor and can it be lubricated or something to let it stop smoothly.No. the brake is visable when the gearbox is dropped down, (similar to brake shoes on a car.)

ParticipantRe: Bosch Parts Price Rant
I often fit pattern fan oven elements, and charge £55 – £60. inc fitting, nice earner for me, and a cheap job for the customer. HOWEVER I dont tell the customer that it is a pattern part. SO the question is ‘ Should I ?’
I could offer the customer the choice of pattern or genuine parts, and charge accordingly, but that would mean doubling up on the van stock.
Most people I find just care about the bottom line. The same reasons they buy the cheapest washer.
