    Re: Electrue/NESN

Is any body aware of a Paul Carpenter at nesn? I have received an e-mail from paul.carpenter@nesn co.uk with an attachment that I do not want to open if it’s a scam or hacker.
Normaly I just delete this type of mail but as it possibly comes from a known source I thought I would just ask. Incidently I have never done work for nesn and don’t know how they would have got my address

    Re: Bosch WFK 2801.

The reset procedure will not reset.

Generally speaking all Bosch electronics will reset by turning selector to X and pressing start button.
Programme will then restart until panel detects fault when it then trips again.
If it will not reset then its 99.99999999999999{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} panel fault

problem is it ain’t dispensing water

Try also checking circulating fan in freezer, if it fails cold air falls to bottom of freezer and fridge causing resevoir to freeze as Bassman suggests

This seems illogical I know but disconnect the connections to the double valve, then try resetting. A high resistance in one valve coil can cause similar symptoms

New one on me Chris, lets us know if sucessfull

I can confirm that no lights at all come on, so it looks like the module.

Check the door lock carefully, I have had several machines where the door lock has shorted out internally and blown the module. Fitting a new module with faulty door lock will blow the new module instantly. 🙁

it may be that the rear liner has come away from the evaperator plate which the thermostat is next to and this can cause the problem that you have.

If the back wall is spongey it normally means the refrigerant pipework inside the insulation has punctured and the gas pressure has pushed the back wall away from evaporator, if so throw it away, not a repairable fault

How many of us turn ourselves inside out to try to satisfy customer time requirements then sit meekly at home twiddling thumbs when we need gas, water, electricity repairs ourselves after being told when booking the call that someone will be with you between 8an and 5.30pm ❓ and they either never turn up or ring you at 4.30pm to say they will not be there today and ask to book another all day appointment weeks later ❗

Good telephone service – somebody who knows even a little bit will weed out the rubbish.

giving basic advise on the phone blocked pump filters/cookers on auto etc will get the customer on your side and they will always come back and recommend you. It also helps if the person taking the call has a good memory and can recall customers personal details / family history we all get Dear Diary information, it makes them feel you have an interest in them if you recall previos conversations(obviously only applies to solo independent engineers)

Try and do it right and stand your guarantees. All repairs go wrong occasionally and experience says just sorting it with no fuss or bother gets you more referrals!

Don’t expect expect every job to give you a profit, very ocaisionally you will get a pig that you will not win on the best approach is to solve the problem even at your cost then move on and put it down to experiance,(that customer will usually come back for the next repair)

Get rid of the Thompson advert! Everybody gets a copy of Thompson’s

I find that applies to Yellow pages also, local paper adverts also gets you all the rubbish.

if this were somehow the other way around, we would be persued for compensation and maybe, in these days of blame and claim maybe we should sometimes get our revenge.

I quite often get customers who ask for me to remove my shoes to work on their intigrated appliances in kitchens with fancy light coloured carpets, I always ask if they have liability insurance in case I injure my feet pulling the appliance out as an injured engineer who is unable to work is very expensive to keep 👿 , suddenly they don’t mind and let me get on with it 🙂 . (I do carry dust sheets for working in these conditions but like to see them squirm first before telling them 😈 )

except for an engineer that once asked, at the start of the AIDS epedemic,

We should all be aware of the posibility of nasty objects in pumps and drain hoses etc especially in waste disposers for those who indulge, any cuts grazes and scratches should be treated with caution, cuts from nice sharp stainless door liners are not so likely to be a contamination problem, however we should all keep up to date with tetanous jabs ❗
