    Re: Help Yourself First

    And we have Repairs@

Signed up last year NO calls to date although i’ll admit that my specialised products are probably limiting

Then we have the washer which some, again, still haven’t bothered to fill the form out for. That one baffles me as you get to make money from that big style.

Sent a query Email to admin@ last week as kheath@ bounced back, as yet no reply to my query!

Sorry posted before I finished, PM received today from Dave that I will reply to when I’m more awake.

    Regards

I have ordered a new heat exchanger cover from seimens (part no. 267631)

You will have to order the heat exchanger 215761, as far as I am aware the back blue sheet is factory sealed to the labyrinth.

The ‘cover’ 267631 is a protective sheet to prevent the heat exchanger sticking onto the black coating of the tub.

grill of the cooling element (at the bottom of the freezer) and saw it was blocked with ice.

the unit worked for 8 hours and then caused my RCD circuit to jump

These symptoms normally indicate a faulty element not thermostat, the element has probably gone open circuit and leaking down to earth.

The element is clipped to the evaporator pipes and it is very easy to puncture the tubes removing or refitting the clips, suggest you check in the “directories” or “repairs@” over to the left of this page for an engineer in your area.
If you investigate further yourself REMEMBER TO PULL THE PLUG :zap:

If the moderators think this subject will get better coverage elseware or under a different title then feel free to change it.

but has anyone asked DAG if you can supply your own customers with replacement products?

My source has tried via several approaches to different departments at D&G to supply their own customer replacement appliances but have met complete refusal to their proposals despite the fact as said earlier they are able to supply, connect and dispose of old appliance cheaper than Comet.

There is also some concern that some customers have been asked to pay for delivery and disposal of old machine by Comet as ‘it is not included’ in the warranty, this has not yet been confirmed as yet.

I can confirm that it definately happens for Bosch appliances

The dealer who told me of this said the situation had happened on Bosch, Siemens and Zannussi write offs so it appears to be across the board.

then stopped, the dot on the front panel was lit very dimly

A single red dot in the display usually indicates failure of the electronic control panel, best to have it checked by an engineer, try repairs@ over to the left of this page

Control panels are £83.00 + vat an expensive item if you make a mistake ❗

MOST??? washing machines spin in a clockwise direction, however there are a few that spin anticlockwise.

As a general rule machines with soap dispencer on left spin anticlockwise, dispencer on right spin clockwise.
This is to prevent the centrifugal force of spin pushing the extracted water out of the dispencer.

not making any ice water comes through no problem

If the ice maker tray fills with water which does not freeze then its not cold enough in freezer section, probably iced up evaporator caused by faulty defrost element or limit thermostat.

the matric and sure enough it was completely snowed-up, so I defrosted it and that seemed to fix it

If the matrix on a frost free freezer ices up then there is a problem with the automatic defrost cycle, circuit board, NTC sensor or defrost elements.
Time for an engineer I think, check for an independent engineer in your area by clicling the big red tool box over to the left.

    Yes Dave, it’sKGE3301GB/02

E2 on this model meens failure of foamed in NTC evaporator sensor, not replacable part, you have to replace electronic control board, time for an engineer?
See repairs@ on the left of this site = big red tool box.
