Hi Simon,
Do you know if the capacitor was changed with the motor?
I know the motors come seperate without the start capacitor for the motor. Don’t try it yourself especially if you can get someone to do it for you. These are quite fiddly machines to dismantle.sparkyp

Hi Robbra,
Have you checked the hose from the pressostat to the chambe for holes. If air is escaping thru a tiny hole you will get a fault of overfilling thus F 09sparkyp

Hi Richard,
When you say “motor on main switch is noisy”. Do you mean the timer motor is noisy on the timer. The main switch is the one you push in to turn the appliance on. i have looked at the timer and it should say 914/1440 on it. If you do require one i have one in stock. It is very rare for the timer to go on one of these though.Sparkyp

Hi John,
Does your old interlock have a wire to connect for the top and a one for the bootom. If it does do not put the new one on. The one at the top is for the machine when used on a cotton wash to open during the first 15-20 mins of a cycle so if you forget to put anything in you can actually open the door and the machine will stop. When it heats to 40 degrees the door locks and continues with the door locked. a synthetics or wool cycle it locks straight away. Anyway if you onle have one connector for the interlock it is interchangable.Sparkyp

Hi Mark,
Did you smell a burning oil smell when you took the pump off etc?
It is quite common that the gearbox goes but i replace the clutch as well just in case . I preferebly open the lid and remove the conditioner dispenser and then the cap, underneath is a 11mm nut, reverse thread undo and take off the agitator. Take the shell off and lie the machine on its back. Take the pump off via the clips then the motor holders, you will see 3 13mm bolts which hold the gearbox in place the clutch comes out with the gearbox. The clutch comes as a seperate part to the gearbox and some circlips are needed from the old one. just remember the way you dismantle the old one and reverse the process.
Any questions just ask

Hi almacd,
Just had the same fault on a whirlpool today. When you start the program it will lock the door then energise the pump. It is now waiting for the drum to turn to check the motor, if it does not turn the door open light will flash with the door still locked. It will either be brushes on the motor or the motor itself.Sparkyp

ParticipantRe: Hpt wms38 “door locked flashing”
Hi Seamy,
It is the board at fault if you have tried the interlock. You said you have inspected the board for dry joints and burning. Replace both the interlock and the board and this will cure.Sparkyp

ParticipantRe: LG WM-1465FHD
Hi Charlie,
It is a characteristic of this machine. When on Final spin it will open the valve and fill with water but only for a few seconds. This is normal. You have checked the filter but i would have a closer look at the impellor in the filter housing at the back. Switch off at mains then tilt the machine back then open the filter and carefully with a screwdriver try to turn the green impellor at the back. It is common to get things caught in these. As for the error code FE this is not listed in the service manual.
Hope this helpsSparkyp
