ParticipantRe: Taking a Long time to go through cycle
Hi Goldie,
One thing to check is that the drain hose is not pushed right down to the bottom of your waste trap. If it is this will cause siphoning. It is quite a common thing when people move the machine and then refit them . If your waste is connected under the sink then disregard the last advice.
Good luck.

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool AWZ8812 no heat
Hi AMS
Open the door and press the button to get access to the lower region. ie: Heat exchanger. On the bottom plinth there are 3 hex screws, take them out and behind the panel you will see a stat with a yellow circle. That is the exhaust stat. If everything else checks out ok, ie: heater and stats then this is the culprit. If you change it just advise your customer the benefit of letting the dryer do the full cycle down to zero which encorporates the cool down cycle/

Hi Guys
Here the feedback. Machine has been on test for 2 days using all cycles. Nothing wrong with the machine. The customer has gone out and bought a new machine and now wants a refund of the money i charged her. I told her to get another machine but she wanted it repaired. Now her son has told her what a fool she is and got another machine. Oh what lovely customers we do have. I will have to bite my tongue when i speak to her next.Sparkyp 😯

Hi Guys,
This one has come back and bit me in the backside. After fitting a new motor and checking the cycle thru till it stopped heating customer has been on the phone saying that the machine is playing up again (skipping around to stop position). Sureley it must be a timer fault?
Customer is going to buy a new machine today. I tried to explain that was the best course of action in the first place.Sparkyp

ParticipantRe: BRANDT WFH1671U BEARINGS
I know whirlpool have had the same problem but it is mainly on the 1400 models where it makes a whistling noise. To cure this you have to change the rear half tub and apply AMBLYGON GREASE to the seal liberally. But most rear half tubs now come with this applied.
I do not work with Brandt. What family are they from?

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint 6Kg machines out of balance loads
Hi Andy
I would agree with you as i have a WMA33 which is a 5.5Kg and when underloaded is does make an awful noise and banging when it ramps and when it slows down. I have been to customers with the same complaint yet when i test it with a nominal load it seems to be ok. I think a bit of advice to the customer is what is needed. Oh and then there is the option of the “one” button.i never use it myself but tell customers to stay away from it as it will most probably not spin at the endand out of balance will show on the last error.Sparkyp

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the stoves number i think i will give them a bell. I have a link to a website where the cooker is so it does exist.
http://www.coopelectricalshop.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?ProductCode=STO-CKR-600EDOA_STAINLESSST-SS&source=KELKOOI don’t think the mains block is listed in the diagrams anyway.
Many thanks

ParticipantRe: Tumble dryer exhaust stats
Hi Simon,
Just to put your mind at rest it is not the AWZ650 but the AWZ630/3 that your customer was refering to on watchdog. I do believe that there was a problem with the wires on the timer starting to melt and in some severe cases catching fire. I have some exhaust stats in stock. Give me a pm if you need one. Below is the link :http://www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/reports/consumer/consumer_20040302_1.shtml

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool awg129 not warming
Hi Jamie,
I have some heaters that are surplus stock. If you do need one give me a shout. I am sure we can sort out a price. As long as you know that it is the heater at fault. It could be the stats on the heater but they are not interchangeable which means a new heater anyway.Sparkyp

ParticipantRe: Problem with Whirlpool AWM 820
Hi XoioX2000,
I think Martin agrees with me. It will fill up with cold water and heat to 60 degrees which will be very hot to the touch of the back of your hand on the glass. It then washes for say 20-30 mins then fills up with a little cold water before it empties the wash water. Then you have 3 rinses which are all cold fill before the final spin. Believe me (or us) when we say there is nothing wrong with your machineSparkyp

ParticipantRe: Problem with Whirlpool AWM 820
Hi XoioX200,
The test you did on cycle 3 which is a 60 degree cycle will only wash at 60 degree. When it reaches cycle 4 it will not revert to 50 degrees. This machine will only take in hot water on cycle 2 which is a 90 degree wash. Once you set it at cycle 3 it will only do cycle 3 and the rotation of the the timer is for timing processes only not to tell you that it is on cycle 4 and doing a 50 degree wash. If in fact it did this it would take a long time to do a cycle. I use a wash 5 when i had one of these machines and it took 65-70 mins. So a wash 3 sounds about right for a wash of 90 mins.Sparkyp

Hi Alex,
When you let go of the power switch does the light stay off as if there is no power? If it does then it is the on/off switch at fault. You should here a firm click when you turn it on and off. I have found this is a common problem with these machines of the point range.sparkyp
