I bet the customers rose garden will look a treat in a few months with all the free horse tish they will be collecting of the drive.
You would think Samsung would test the ablities of these “engineers” before letting them lose on the public, would be interesting to see his C.O.P. figure after he let a waft of air in.

“But can you see a Samsung agent spending the time required to do this correctly on the rates they are paid.”
I turned down Samsungs approach/fees some years ago,I didn’t need the work certainly not at their fee’s,different for younger souls with bills to pay etc,do the very occasional one for locals.
Possibly should follow commercials lead where a log book (theoretically)accompanies every fridge/system over a certain size, engineer fills it in with what he has done and customer signs too.
    Fat chance!!

You can re-surrect an air filled/contaminated system,as long as the comp is OK, “triple evacuation” ie vac down then charge with OFN (oxygen free nitrogen)release pressure afte 10/15 minutes then vac again, repeat 3 times, mostly done on commercial systems but worth it for an expensive domestic item.
You will notice that the drop back of the vac guage reduces each time as non condensables (air included) are forced out of hiding within the sysytem, especially from the compressor oil, when the vac gauge is static you should have a clean system.
Usually says somewhere on the label the max pressure test that you should use, wont be very high 8 bar perhaps in an HC system as components/evaporators aren’t as heavily built, too much pressure can blow a hole in the evaporator!!

“I enquired if the engineer had used any gauge’s and the customer said no
The compressor was running and he just opened the valve and said the compressor is not pumping and he would not fit any mods as this was not covered as out of warranty.”
Did you ask if he arrived on a horse called trigger ? 😉

Maybe worth a look at the pcb for any visual sign of breakdown in circuit, trace the neutral back and check the contacts and printed circuit etc.
