Re: Strix to Diamond H ?????

You could trace the load wires back to the element to ensure that is straightforward, test to see it is ok and then pilot could be piggy backed onto the appropiate load connection.
If you still have a problem I’ll pop back to the one I did a while ago and check the wiring.
These jobs come along now and again, juggles the grey matter!

Re: Strix to Diamond H ?????

It cost me a controller as I welded the internal contacts on the first controller, hot sweats and all that.
Was there a diagram with the new controller that shows the internals of the controller?

Re: Strix to Diamond H ?????

I follwed a recently ex hotponint engineer who gave up,I nearly did but decided to spend an extra hour or so as I don’t like being beaten.
I have a diagram of a solar glow you can have with strix controls if it is of any help,pm me if required.
I looked at how the new control actually switches internally then adapted the wiring to and from element to suit.
    Cheers

Re: Strix to Diamond H ?????

Had the same a while ago but cant remember much other than having to use the theoretic appliance diagram combined with the new controls (which works differently internally to a strix) diagram to work out the circuit, starting from scratch really.
    Not easy.

Of course pm me,don’t do much r600a domestic wise, mostly light commercial refigerataiion and a/c,plus a few general domestic appliances.
I thought I had seen something about a recovery pump for r600a which is here Javac in Australia.
It turns out to be a manual pump much like a stirrup pump by the look of things, would be more of hinderence than help I should think.
Would think the cost of a mechanicaly powered pump if it was developed which would have to be intrinsically (explosion proof) safe would be thousands.
Chaps on here like r600a are more often involved with this refrigerant than me.

    Re: Gas Safe!

    Hi,
    You use either thisor this.
Depends on how you approach checking the charge, pressure or performance by a line tap valve,we all work a bit differently.
R600a doesn’t require being recovered it can be gassed off to atmosphere as long as it’s can be vented outside, have in the past connected a bunsen burner when I couldn’t safely release it although that crteates C02 but made a couple of jobs less of a worrry.
Fosters among others are using it in commercial cabinets now so significant amounts in them, not sure if I have seen one somewhere but presume there will be a vacuum pump to extract but it would have to be intrinsically safe.
You don’t legally need one at present,so at least no heavy exspense there.

    Re: Gas Safe!

If you did complete your f-gas succesfully the practical involves,re-claiming refrigerant from a system, pulling a vacuum and then charging the system with the corrrect amount, loging weights recaimed and charged etc.
If you passed that you will know how to “gas a system” and have a certificate and card to proove your competence to customers etc.
You will also have a refcom number like REF1004284.
Perhaps you are talking about LPG powered fridges, different animal where you do need a gas-safe qualification.
    Leg pull 😕

I have changed a couple of timers in the past,if testing when empty and it does this, providing the tacho is not lose or damaged then timer is ikely.
Expensive item though as I remember.

Re: Are Vacuum Cleaner Repairs worthwhile?

Did loads with Lux,stopped when found out that vacuum cleaners bags are full of something like 60{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} dead skin 😯
    Breathing in dead skin,no thanks.
If I were to do them I would do only in workshop with a serious dust extraction system to remove all nasties, yuk !

Problem is sios disc is copyright protected, have to print it off then scan it,save it and email file.
As I said they dont do manuals just diagrams and fault codes in sios.
Struggling to see why the pdf hasn’t got through,I sent a copy of that to my other emails just to check and its fine 😕
