    I’ll call between 9am and 12noon,
“well we have to go out,can you call early”?
    Ok,I’ll make it first call.

    “Not before 8-30am though” :rolls:
Must be Derby and Joan day!

Worked for Lux.area manager rang Friday night said a director/ececutive is in his caravan on holiday near you and his fridge has packed up,”OK I said I’ll call first thing Monday”
Area man said “no you will call tomorrow”
we don’t work saturdays (salaried) I replied.
He said “you do tomorrow” 😥
Fumed all night, got up early and was knocking on their caravan door by 7-30am 😆
Much rumbling from inside, free repair and the tight git didn’t slip me a penny :rolls: was home before 9am though.

    Re: Creda T/dryer lid problem

It can take a serious crack with the ball of the hand and sometimes several blows before it slides back.
Not easy when the customer is close by.
Perhaps a stanley knife blade slid between the lid and base will help as it may be seals or adhesive making it difficult to shift.

Think you would have to open the drum up to look for any impact signs internally before questioning materials.
Maybe not happened all at once.
Is she stone deaf by any chance ❓

Re: "and a power surge led to a washing machine catching fir

I saw that,we had a power surge during last years snow fall, most electrical gear in the house right down to phone chargers went bang or melted.
When the power was eventually restored the company working on the mains supply sent an engineer to carry out a full house wiring check as he said it can damage the house wiring let alone the appliances! switched the dishwasher on and clouds of smoke billowed from the built in dishwasher, didn’t burst into flames but looked quite dramatic.
They had an impressive young lad repairing all the damaged components on the mains supply sections of the appliance boards as opposed to replacing complete boards etc, soldering iron boxes of components.
That job would have suited you Mike.

    Re: You And Yours

    Interesting item,came over well.
Surprised by the comment after Kens input from a presenter stating that an appliance 12 years old plus wasn’t worth repairing implying just bin it as the savings made on a new appliance were better than having an old one repaired.
Could be just a minor repair, might go another few years.

Not like the vee belt tightness on front loaders, quite loose, new belt should do the trick.
