    Re: Faulty integrated freezer

Could be a thermostat or the compressor, you would need a person competent in the use of test equipment to establish the fault.
Worth invvesting in the visit of an engineer, this site has a facility to find your nearest one.

I try and buy live recordings now as it makes up for that missing something, not as pure as studio stuff but having played in bands for years it’s nearer the real sound.
Ruby Turner the singer reckons it was the tape recording that made the difference and she has /is just releasing one made that way,it’s a bit Religious but don’t half rock, check out a track called “this train”,think she did it with Jools Hollands band too.

Any shelves touching the wet wall?they shouldn’t be!
Condensation on the wet wall is fine but it shouldn’t be getting onto the shelves.

Definetely un posh ,I go to some farms where the parent stock of breeding pigs for the industry are kept.
To enter you dis robe,go through a shower and then put clothes on that they supply.
No food or drinks are allowd in it’s all tinned and on site for the staff.
Makes the NHS look proper grubby,”pigs in sh!t” hardly.
An electrician friend had 6 showers in one day, each time you want stuff out your van you have to reverse the procedure and shower again on entry.
    Yes a pig farm !

    Re: Hydrocarbon disposal ?

Taken from ACRIB’s safe working practices:
    “Ventilated area
Ensure that the area is in the open or that it is adequately ventilated before breaking into
the system or conducting any hot work. A degree of ventilation should continue during
the period that the work is carried out. The ventilation should safely disperse any released
refrigerant and preferably expel it externally to the atmosphere.”
The idea behind burning it off is that the risk of ignition after it’s released is removed (by someone walking by with a fag is removed),a valve and the burner itself can be controlled quite safely,it’s no more dangerous than lighting your brazing or welding torch which you in all probability will be using anyway.
The system should be flushed with OFN in circumstances where hot work is carried out to expel any residue from the system.Possibly up to 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} or more stays in the compressor oil and will evacuate itself if not removed which can ignite.
It’s about risk assesment, first be competent to asses the risk then if criteria is satisfied carry out the work, usually called common sense.
As iI said it’s an idea for discussion and comment.

Have a 20 gb ipod which connects to radio in van, haven’t come across any better. Also the radio is blue toothed so picks up my phone too.
Have tons of music on the ipod, think it can hold 14 days of music without repeating a song.Plus you can select playlists and also downloading off itunes you can pick single trackd off CD’s without buying them all.
Get a dock and plug that into your hi fi or surround sound on the tele, awesome 😯
Have nano’s for walking or cycling, where was all this stuff in the 60’s ? just the bloody dansette with the arm up so it kept repeating the same song.

Any sign of ice behind the salad draw area in the fridge. The fan doesn’t operate until it senses a temp of approx-12 to 14 so it takes a while to start.
Was it the back of the freezer or fridge you took out ?

Couldn’t see any sign of leak so suspect the heater.

johnsdad wrote:I’ve had a few of these over 12 months or so, mostly weak pumping compressors (they do tend to make a characteristic gurgling from fridge section as if short of gas, but usually they’re not). If you’re really unlucky the compressor oil will overheat, “crack” and block the system – very difficult to clear

I did agency work for Beko a few years ago and avoid them now and do very few so Johnsdad is probably on the money.

System fault of some sort, was a leak found and repaired when it was gassed?
Could be a system blockage, you need a return visit from the engineer.

Re: fridge freezer not cold at all

If the compressor is running it’s because the thermostat or electronic thermostat is asking to run,ie it switches the compressor on.Calibration is not an issue when it is running and not freezing,if it were running and freezing food in the refrigerator or not working at all then the thermostat woulkd be worth looking at but not in this case.
Therefore if it’s running it should be cooling,if it’s not cooling it’s almost certainly as Dales advised you is loss of refrigerant, could also be system blockage ,unlikely, or poor compressor output also unlikely.
