    Re: AW23 Drumming Noise

This one doesn’t appear to be suspension leg as the noise is there as the drum initially turns, so suspension is not really having to move at that point?
Removed front lower panel and watched when it was agitating.
It is though the load is too heavy to turn and its a pully/ belt slipping but it continues the graunching noise as it rotates πŸ˜•
    All looks ok?
The motor is sparking a bit, which i know you do get a bit while the brushes bed in, but it did also spike slightly at one point.

Just had another call from second customer delivered yesterday with what sound like the same noise and symptoms?

Calling back to investigate this one today to check?

Really odd. Just my luck, surely cant have two the same.

Re: AW23..P or E that is the question?

I have recieved this from a reliable source.

This is from Amica relating P codes so should relate to the AW23.

Regarding error codes β€œP”, my colleague tells me it’s not an error, but an info message to state that the control knob has been moved accidentally (ie set on a different program during washing). The washer will continue to wash based on the original program it started on, but then has to be reset before the next wash or the washer won’t work. Needless to say we will be updating our instructions as this was not included (??!!).

This in Amica manual relating to the P codes.

Signalling the change of the programme selector

If the present position of the knob is different than the recently remembered program, the β€˜Pxx’ symbol is indicated on the time display, where xx means the number of the remembered programe. If the position of the knob and the number of the remembered programmed are correct, the time left till the end of the wash is shown on the display.

I have got one doing the same about 9 yrs old….. its my own 😳

First notice the fault when the wife said its not rinsing properly :rolls:

Pump was noisy so first point stuck a new pump, cleaned out all breather hoses waste, pressure chamber etc gave it a bit of an overhall. Looked quite tidy for its age, no shorts heating ok etc

Even changed the brushes while it was in bits.

Knew the valves were ok filled on every stage. The problem was it would only fill on any wash program for a few seconds even the secondary fill after agitation was about 2 seconds.

Even changed the pressure switch as a last result :rolls:

Found out for a while the wife was filling by hand just to top the wash water up!!

I even watched it through the whole wash program (sad i know)
When it got to the rinse program it would again not fill to the rinse levels,

Yet put it on a rinse only it would fill to correct level half way up door πŸ˜•

The only conclusion is a PCb fault cannot find anything else.

Its on the side line at the moment until i can be bothered to find the fault.

Got my self an ISE10 now πŸ˜‰

    Re: JTM again!

    Hi guys

I find communication between individules at jtm a problem but what i have tended to do is get a name and email or number from the relevant departments and deal directly with them all the time.

For accounts send your invoices if not on line by email to one person that way you know it gets dealt with (thats the theory)

    Returns

Get hold of accounts the same person you send your invoices too that way you can always track it, give them details of the parts for credit.

They will give you a authorisation number SRN

Contact email Ware house department is Alan (warehouse@jtmcontracts.co.uk)
If you have parts to go back email him deatils of invoice, how many parcels whats going back give the SRN returns number.

Just make sure you keep paper work of all transaction and leave a copy with the parts.

He will tell you a day for collection how.

Then just check that they have credited you with accounts after.

It can be a pain in the a..se to do all this for the hassel as you make nothing on the parts in the first place

If you need an answer to something then just email as many departments as possible someone will reply.

    Re: Faulty parts

Its typical like any insurance company deep pockets and short arms.

The point made about D&G and other service providers I think that it down to rates of labour with them.
Because we all get screwed by these people on labour rate you automatically cover your self by ordering several parts especially if you have had to made a 1 hr round trip and its your second visit, with the lack of service information etc you have already lost out before you begin. You hope for a BER if not then you know you can surely fix it next visit.

But this then leads engineers to think this on every appliance.
Everyone gets tarred with the same brush.

Its not quite the same with our ISE as we have more knowledge on them, excellant back up, they are usually local and easy to fix. The rates of pay are excellant.  but mistakes do happen to best of us. 😳

There is always a reason why the board go, but i guess many of us have had to tell the odd porky in the past for eg you know full well its being used commercially but if you tell the insurance co you didnt get paid and you certainly was no chance of getting money from a customer.

Like you said before if the guys are honest and tell you the real reasons, then as long as they are not taking the p**s then in most cases there will be no issue.

    Re: Faulty parts

I can get their point, yet most of our washers are so basic there is nothing left on it, so automatically if it doesnt do a particualr thing then after checking the obvious many of us would opt for a board.

I trust you would also tell me that if i returned a board and it wasnt faulty. I would like to know honestly.

Mistakes and incorrect diagnoses happens to many of us; but at the end of the day we are not making any money from the parts, we are just trying to put right a fault.
Hopefully we are all honest enough to own up and say I cocked up, if it was something else.
I would not send a board back knowing it may not be faulty. whats the point you may as well keep it for another job. :rolls:

I suppose we think if a motor or the armature has blown a segment badly to save time we would probably order and replace the board as you dont want to return to a customer without being able to complete the job, thats why maybe, boards being returned are found to have no fault?

Ken do you check the boards yourself when there returned?

By the way what are the cost of our pcbs?

Have we got a trade price list for all the models available yet, people do ask when out of warranty what is the price of…. it would be nice to have a comparison.
