Hoover and hotpoint are the worse for reliability apparantly, with a third needing repairs in the first 6 years.
where do they get their information from?
what constitutes a repair “remove sock from hoover washerdryer”, or fit pcb to bosch £168.33 +vat+labour.suedehead1

adamhornsby wrote:Suedehead, AEG machines are built in Germany, not Italy, where Zanussi’s are built.
AEG are part of the electrolux group ie. electrolux, tricity, bendix and zanussi.
or in other words a zanussi in disguise regardless of where it is made.suedehead1
ParticipantRe: New washer dryer
i just installed a hoover 7.5kg wash/5kg dry, HNWF7137 washerdryer it had a variable temperature control on the wash side, 3 quick wash programs, timed and sensor drying and a 5 year parts guarantee all for a lot less than £400.
but then ive been in the trade for 18 years and my father for 35 years before me what do i know?
there is no better machine for that money.
and they are a lot easier to fix and cheaper parts than zanussi, miele bosch etc. AEG are normally zanussis in disguise.suedehead1

I’ve got £250-£300 to spend on a new washing machine.
Any suggestions?
.
coming back to the original question i would still recommend hoover as the best in that price range.if someone asks i have £5000 to spend on a new car you wouldnt say i would get a ferrari.

i am going to jump i here and then keep my head down.
in my opinion you should buy a hoover machine they come with hoovers standard 5 years parts guarantee,i would have nothing else but i have only been in the trade for 18 years and my dad for 35 years before me as authorised hoover agents.
now before anyone starts slagging them off hoover are owned by candy an italian company, but the machines are still manufactured in wales i have seen them being made.
other biased people will tell you to buy a bosch now also manufactured in spain and poland.
the hoover is easier to repair the parts are cheaper and easier to obtain.suedehead1

have you tried replacing the small slave timer.
these pcbs are all supposed to be different but they can be interchanged.suedehead1
ParticipantRe: Earth Trip Fault – Servis 1000 Automatic
op says it does everything except high spin i have read it again and he doesnt say it trips on high spin.
modules dont trip switches in my experience, i would check the wiring which goes to the motor in case it is rubbing on the tub.
plug out.
i would disconnect the heater and try it on spin.suedehead1

ParticipantRe: Hoover washing machine overheats
go for the 7kg, the new wave was supposed to be top of the range but i personally disliked them.
all new hoover washing machines are the same quality from the cheapest to the most expensive.suedehead1
ParticipantRe: Earth Trip Fault – Servis 1000 Automatic
if there is an earth leakage in the heater the machine wont spin.
and also plug out before checking.suedehead1
ParticipantRe: Hoover auto HC6 130M
it sounds like the pcb is faulty.
