cooky wrote:Thanks for the help, but the blockage seems to be in the drain between the drain hole and the pump housing which is all sealed as far as i can tell. (drain hole is full to brim, pump housing is pretty much empty)
Is there a way to clear the blockage without the use of a large hammer? Cheers..

If there is no sign of cable either side then my guess is it will be behind the chimney, only other though is that they may have put it above the ceiling although unlikely I HAVE seen it done!

    Jeez……english would be good!

I am guessing this is a chimney hood? If so then the supply is normaly located behind the “Chimney”

AND I am so annoyed about people being “ripped off” by those “Shysters” that I have now decided I will be getting rid of all my stock in a special promotion.

K……….don’t hold back mate! you have obviously done your homework and I, for one, am fascinated, so don’t hold back……vent that spleen 😆

And don’t forget of course that the blardy things also bash the merry ding dong out of your drum leaving more dents than a wayward 2p coin!

AND when the salesman flogs ’em to ya he may mention that the clothes smell as if they have been out on the washing line……..you know the smell….fresh air.

No surprise there then 😳 ‘cos you just washed them in fresh air 😆

    Re: Invoice

I was thinking of the vat rules inthat an invoice should be raised within 30
days of goods supplied or work being COMPLETED.

That is obviously to avoid the vat man waiting for his lump of the invoice – if the customer takes six months to pay the vat man still gets his bit at the end of the quarter.

    Jackal,

am I right in thinking that VAT invoices must be raised within 30 days of the supply of goods or services?

Just a thought……….maybe you could sugest your employer provides snow chains or socks? It would at least show a serious desire to work!

I lost at least five days work and my next company purchase……snow chains!

Worth every penny even if I only use them once every two years!

Re: Your opinions on a small claim….

In my humble opinion……….Give the customer one last chance to cough up in full. State in writing that you do not want to waste the time of a very busy county court judge unless you are absolutely forced to.

The opinion of the plumber is as worthless of that of the local milkman! I suspect neither of them could use an electrical test meter to ensure the insulation & earth continuity were correct.

I certainly would NOT take the money and run! you have carried out the work in a profesional manor and with due care, it took longer because of where the appliance was situated.

It sickens me that people think they can get away with non or part payments because they think you won’t follow the court action through.

Another option is a debt collecting agency – for a fee of around £100 per year they will cause far more agro to as many non payers as you like than the court!
