ParticipantIf it’s tripping the wrong RCD then it sounds like there is a problem with the neutral connections somewhere in the circuit. That is potentially dangerous and needs to be fixed.
Also, the fact that the oven only cooks at a high temp setting and unevenly suggests one element is not working – that may be causing the trip.

ParticipantIf it’s not fixed on the first attempt and is under 6 months old I believe you can tell the retailer that you want either a replacement or refund – https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/consumer-rights-act#how-long-do-you-have-to-return-a-faulty-product

ParticipantIf the power short issue occurred while the Miele tech was in attendance I’d be telling them that he must have caused it as it only happened once he had been inside the machine. Miele expecting you to pay for that is outrageous behaviour in my opinion.
It’s stories like this that give Miele a bad name. Their products seem well designed and made, but behaviour like this would stop me from buying any of their larger products (I do have one of their vacuum cleaners, which is a great bit of kit).January 13, 2021 at 9:34 am in reply to: Classixx 6 wash cycle not starting after sump hose replacement #474237tubafan
ParticipantA random thought, but does it heat during the prewash? I ask as all of the other programmes that still work don’t need the heater and I’m wondering if the wash programme is checking the heater circuit before progressing.
I struggling to think of any other reason why some programmes work and others do not.tubafan
ParticipantYou’ll need some insulated wire to fix the tracks. De-solder the component legs and then wrap a stripped end of the wire around each leg to make a wire track before re-soldering. Before that I’d check that the triac isn’t short circuited and also the pump windings (assume the pump does spin and isn’t jammed?). The back of the other board will also need to be cleaned.
It is a concern that the machine is totally dead as this could indicate a fault with the front board, but it’d certainly have a go at fixing it.tubafan
ParticipantDoes look like that triac powers the pump. As Dave says, I’d be looking at the pump and it’s wiring now and trying to work out why the circuit has been overloaded enough to blow that track. I’d also take a look at the front PCB to see if there’s any obvious damage from the ‘explosion’ event. If not then it could all be repairable. Certainly worth a go if you feel your skills are up to it.

ParticipantThink I’d be checking TC2 in the first instance. Has one of the tracks from its centre pin been blown as I can’t be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} from the photo?

fan and element are on till unit gets to temp then both cut out till temp drops at which point they both start up again. What they are doing is saving the power the motor draws so saving energy
DaveI thought the whole idea of a fan oven is that the fans circulates the air to keep the temperature constant throughout the oven cavity. If the fan is going on and of that won’t work as well will it?
For the small amount of power the fans draws (30W?) I’d rather have it running all of the time.tubafan

ParticipantIs the cooling fan working when the oven is on, as it sounds like the electronics for the hob are getting too hot?

ParticipantThe parts drawings are at https://shop.zanussi.co.uk/search?q={e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}3Arelevance{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}3Apnc{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}3A94890409302 but I can only see an overheat stat (part 518V in the electrical equipment drawing, and there are 3 different ones!). Hopefully a more knowledgeable member will know which is the correct part.

ParticipantIs this the top oven fan or actually the cooling fan which blows air from above the oven? If it’s the cooling fan then it’ll have a temperature sensor which has failed.
tubafan
ParticipantThey certainly look like the same machine. Why is the RH so expensive compared to the Logik – over £100 more! As for the spares costs, well they are just bonkers. It’s this kind of pricing that encourages people to throw away a repairable machine and is morally wrong in my mind. 🙁

ParticipantDoes it have a cooling fan, and is it running? I’m just wondering if the control electronics are getting too hot and going a bit mad.
