    Re: Zanussi Configuration codes

    Hi Flyman

Machine had waste pump running all the time (this is normal in some fault conditions) and control leds like something out of close encounters of the third kind.

Yes went into dignostics and had E 51 if i remember correctly (motor triac short circuit) anyway checked and replaced main motor and done the usual loom checks. Upon furher inspection found that the recirculating pump was just a melted blob, bugger to spot under that white cover at first glance (measured just 20 ohms) Looking at circuit ties in with Main motor triacs, possibly why I had E51 in the first place ❗

So of course have E93 on new board (wrong config code)

    Thoughts please

Start to configure module then it just locks up, wont let you press any buttons at all. Last error code is obviously E93

Spoke to Electrolux today and they only sell non configured boards ❗

Rang to speak to electrolux tech, but gave up after 30 mins of being on hold :eeek: (could have had a Bosch upside down and everything according to the other thread 😉 :rotfl: )

Have lost TDS at moment ( usuall teething problems with new installation)

Anyone know if new disc has any info on this problem. Have correct board according to Electrolux 🙄

    Hi Tony

Must be honest Tony, always found CDSL quite obliging faxing me over Diagrams/parts list when i’ve need them in, if they do not have them on Mediator.
Might be worth giving them a ring (if you have account with them of course 😉 )

Re: Down to earth cooker elements

    Hi Bob,

Yep been down that road, I normally run them on the bench without the earth connected to try and dry them out if I think its a dodgy one. Always found “old stock” elements not much cop.

using a Pat tester with a mains plug and three croc clips on the end is ideal as you cant test it for low insulation when its been running and is still hot, saves the 😳 of tripping customers Rcd again and them thinking that you dont know what ya doing 😉

Does anyone have the relevant regs to hand to see what the correct answer is here? Does this come up in the PAT testing regulations?

    Bob

Perhaps this could be moved to its own thread ? very interesting topic ❗

    http://www.pat-testing.info/index.htm

I have always used a Seaward PAT tester for checking an appliance for safety and for checking individual components for low insulation when reqiured. Always a great believer that an appliance should be checked for electrical safety when it has been completley assembled so no chance of catching live wires between metal chassis etc. ( talking from experiance), As kheath suggests though, this is a bit controdictive when testing a built in double oven for safety as you would need to pull it out to disconnect /isolate it to carry out a Pat test.

When we have machines repaired in the shop by the manufacturer that are under warranty, have not once seen an engineer carry out a PAT tester, and thats after a tub change 🙄

How many of you go to this trouble when you can change the fan oven element from the front I wonder ❓

    Hi Laurence

The thermister is probably about right as it should be 9.8 K at 30 degree, so I guess that 11 k is about right for room temp.

I’ve Always found to be a duff heater on these, as Dave says, worth pulling out and checking. Should be I think be between 22 – 28 ohms.

    Re: large syringe

I use the syringe a great deal but I also use one of these. Stick one end in the sink or down the trap and pump away!. brilliant for those washing machines or dishwashers full of lots of water when you stick the waste pipe in bowl and nothing comes out 😥 .Then get the rest of the dregs out with the syringe. 😉 sorted
