No I just suggested they contact their electricity supplier I also suggested they had a word with the neighbours to see if they have similar problems.
I will give them a ring to suggest getting in contact with Panasonic.

    Re: Dishwasher Engineers?

I qualified as a City & Guilds Craft Apprentice which took four years to complete. I now carry out Domestic Appliance Repairs as a living.
What does amaze me is just how bad some of these qualified engineers are as I often get called out to their machines in bits.
I treat them all the same telling them you started the job you finish the job (not in those exact words but close).
The word engineer covers a massive area and I am sure some engineers out there would be insulted that OUR FRIEND calls himself an engineer.
I think we should ban OUR FRIEND from this site so we can focus on more important issues.

PS When OUR FRIEND goes to the Doctors does he take the wee wee out of him for being a failed surgeon?

I charge £140 total to do zanussi bearings + shaft and £155 for the washer dryers. I guess labour rates vary depending on the areas we work in.

I think we should be careful about estimating job times over the internet as so much depends on the plumbing set up, size of working area, amount of limescale build up in machine etc.
Have taken 4 hours to do this job in a pokey little kitchen with lots of limescale to remove but have also done the same job 1hr 20 mins were the machine was in the customers garage and was connected to a water softner. Never been impressed by speed merchants they will always get a higher call back rate and a bad reputation.

Must say I found the NVQ course a complete waste of time and money. The appliances were a load of junk and the tutor was poor to say the least.
I gave it up after some months.
After that I attended Graham Dixons Domestic Appliance Induction Course which I found to be exellent.

Well am glad to see i get PMP 952 for £3.55 but one thing i dont like about Connect is when you order a genuine part and you get a pattern part turn up. 😥 For example if you order a bosch pump 144344 they send you a pump made by a company called Hanning which looks a bit cheap & cheerful to me. Worst still the invoice list a genuine part and a price to match. 👿

O” dear hope Dottie has not gone off to buy a Hoover or a Candy as we could hear from her again fairly shortly I fear.
Lets hope she goes for a Zanussi TCE7127 £249 etc.

Yes we certainly get our fair share of water hardness problems here in the Chiltern Hills especially when they use Calgon or worse still that Aqua Softner liquid which turns limescale to stone.

Its just about working ok now but I am sure the cables are a bit too long.
The protruding button stopper appeared to be well clear of the button.
I did notice they are using a multi strand cable now instead of a single piece of spring steel wire. Thanks for all the advice.

    Thanks for replying guys.
Yes the shaft was broken as there was 25mm of play in the drum but only in line with one of the legs it also made a right racket when it went apparently.
Not sure if she had a electronic or auto mechanical softner unit but she is going to get a plumber to check it is working ok.
She does not think the bathroom cold water tastes salty but she does use liquid detergents all the time. So there could be the problem. 😆
    Thanks again.

Re: BBC TELEVISION WANT TO HELP YOU!!!

Seems like another low budget no brainer show coming our way. Why dont the BBC do an indepth report on cheap disposable appliances and the problems this is causing. It would be a good chance to give Indesits new sealed drum some free advertising. We could for sure help them out on this one. I think someone should have a word with Oliver about this.

Click onto ethiscore.org and read the free review on fridges. It seems they rate the appliances on ethical and environmental issues rather than the end product which is often low quality lasting just a couple of years.

Remove water manually sponge or suck it out with a bit of old tube but get rid of all the water you can see.
