    Re: new FEW 12

It seems at the moment we are pissing in the wind in our fight to stop disposable appliances coming onto the market. However the tide will turn very soon as more and more people realise the damage being done by our throw away habits. I would suggest, if its not already being done that UKW approach different groups/organizations to highlight the state of our profession. For example the Ethical Consumer Magazine often runs reviews on electrical appliances often giving the Antonio Merloni group top marks can you believe. So there is one group we need to have a word with.
Would be nice to see a write up in the Independent one day with our views on this dross we are left to work with.
Last but not least we could always lobby the government. No I will take that one back as it would be a complete waste of time.

Thanks all for replying to my post. I just felt that a link high lighting a few important safety points would be an improvement on just saying power off when working.

Re: BLUE TUBE KEEPS FLOATING AND WONT STAY DOWN

I think the first thing I would do is clean that whole area out by removing the 2 blue tubes and the smaller black tube and pouring a kettle full of boiling water down where the tubes go. Then remove all the water you have poured into that area. Clean the pressure tubes and reassemble.

    Re: Your worst job.

Went to a 15 year old Bosch Dishwasher a couple of years back which was tripping the electrics. Tipped it back at 45 degrees only for a large tail to appear belonging to a big old squirrel, luckily a dead one. Thank god he got a new dishwasher getting me out of removing our furry friend. However I did give him a lift out into his garage with D/W and squirrel firmly in place so he could once more breath in his kitchen.

    Re: Power Off When Working

Sorry for the incorrect posting of this topic onto the public forum.
Having taken on board your views on this subject I shall not bother to give out anymore advice to the general public, as you are right it is doing us out of work.
It still bothers me however that the unplug it first quote to cover your tail is the only bit of safety advice given on most posts falling well short of what a good safe job really requires.
Perhaps this site could go fee paying trade access only one day to solve this problem.
Having had my moan I must say what an excellent website this is and do all I can to spread the word within the trade
    Thanks Turbo

    Re: What would you recommend?

Been recommending the Bosch 1,000 & 1200 spin machines for a number of years now [not the ones made in Spain though] and have had no complaints even from heavy users. Getting a bit worried now though as the latest base model Bosch WEA 24162 1200 spin is £50 pounds cheaper than the old WFO 2467 so where has the saving come from?. Only difference I can see is facia panel and main board. Have been on Bosch web site to compare parts but they dont list the new model yet.

Had no trouble with Connection myself. Been dealing with them for over a year now since Parts Centre went tits up with their carefree reps, silly prices, and damaged parts on arrival due to poor packing. If Connect are getting complacent lets hope Parts Centre get their act together soon as this can only be a good thing for us service guys who are losing work due to the high price of parts and the low price of the finished product.

    Hi rocker
The £26.21 price was from Connect Distrution Ltd. Was going to use them to avoid paying the carriage charge.

    Hi Dave
The dispenser I am after has the sliding door with steam vent so must be 263088 this is £12.41 cheaper than the over priced Hotpoint part.
    Thank for your quick reply

    Hi Wilf
Had the same fault on this model a couple of weeks ago, pump burnt out which blew the board. I noticed that there was no thermal fuse fitted next to the pump windings does anyone know if this would have saved the board from damage?

Is this machine under 5 years old as you may get it repaired under the manufacturers parts Gtee. Put back as you found though, otherwise Gtee will be viod.

Have to agree with Goatboy on this one the latest Indersit machines really are the PITS and not worth getting out of bed for. Guess they invented the first disposable washing machine well done Indesit.
As regards repairing them, what is the point when they are likely to go wrong again under your gtee period costing you money or more likely something else going wrong leaving the customer with the opinion that appliances are not worth repairing. 😥

Are you sure the condenser is totally clear. Can you look through the full length of the condenser and see day light the other end. If blocked clean out using shower head or garden hose. DONT USE ANY SHARPE METAL OBJECTS.

Not a good idea to disconnect the heater as it will not go through the wash cycle. I really think you should get an engineer to have a look because it is not safe to use in its current state. 😥
