    Sounds like a broken wire or a leak onto the electrics to me. Doubt if it is the element as it goes through the heat cycle without tripping.

    Would always go for a vented dryer myself as they are so much more efficient than a condenser system. If she insists go for a Zanussi TCE7127 or if she really wants to push the boat out go for a meile T224 or T234.

    Seems to go through the cycle ok with no heat so will give the timer a go.

    I always thought the washing m/c manufacturers did not recommend water softners for fear of them not being set correctly therefore corroding the alloy drum shaft 😥 could be wrong 😥

    Have to agree with Bob on this one thermostats should never be reset unless there is a obvious reset button built in. Its just not worth the risk of a fire.

    Sounds like the heater to me. Put it on a 90 degree wash then see if it is getting hot after about half an hour.

    Might find the base is flooded, normally caused by a leaking wash pump. Would need a new wash pump complete if this is the case. 😥
