Sounds like the front bearing has completely broken up leaving the shaft to spin freely on the back bearing only. Try forceing some up and down movement on the front edge of the drum there should be no movement at all.

Will have another look at brushes but did seem ok and the wash action seems fine. I was wondering if it could be the pressure switch playing up? Is there a test cycle that can be run on this model. Thanks Martin

Its the Bosch for me, even though this model has only been out for about 6 months.

I agree the change has been too radical they should have stuck to the classical style. In two years time the new model will look about as modern as a Ford Probe. 😆

If you tell them that plastic parts and door gasket are not g”teed on the first visit they will be more careful in future. I also stress that Hpt T/d thermostats are not g”teed, one customer used to get through 3 sets a year due to a high turnover of nannies who were never told they had to clean the door filter. Still nice little earner she never complained 😉

Point taken about the Zanussi T/Bendix Electrolux, the more sales I can deny Merloni the better 😉

Had this same problem with a Zan FS 1555W it turned out to be a faulty door lock. 😆 I believe your machine uses the same door lock Prt No 1249675123. The faulty one I removed had a brown scorch mark where it had burnt out internally. Could be the board though if a new lock fails to sort it. 😥

Have been recommending the Bosch to my customers for over 6 years now and they all seem happy. The latest value for money model is the Bosch WAE 24162 it comes with a 2 year parts & labour gtee but you must send off the paper work to qualify for the second year.

    Re: Digital Clocks

Had a word with the customer and her neighbours have been having similar problems. It turned out that a substation went pop while they were on holiday a couple of weeks ago so they came home not knowing that their supply was now coming from an EMERGENCY GENERATOR 😈
Pretty bad of the supplier not to notify them of this situation.
Mind you the poor blighters living next to generator did not need telling its been driving them nuts apparently. 😈
So yes they have all had Digital Clock problems but the Gas Boiler clocks seem to be unaffected which mystifies me 😕
