Heard today from a source within Comet that Comet Service in Bridgend are closing their depot in November. Some Engineers will be keeping their jobs, however redundancies are inevitable… Engineers are apparently being told next Month…. Sad if true!!

Hi Sean, just wondering, did you get around to printing these packs off? I have had a few enquiries now. At the moment, I’m photocopying the one pack that I have, but I would like aload of the original if poss…. I can give a handfull to each Engineer then also 😀

I would have thought so? Correct me if I’m wrong, but Manufacturers would use that to invalidate a warranty wouldn’t they?

You pull out a W/Machine / Dishwasher or whatever and carry out a repair. When it’s out, (after it’s been out for 30 mins already) customers always say….. “can you stay there a sec, I just need to clean behind there” 😡 …. of they go, come back armed with all sorts of cleaning materials and away they go. 10 mins later, “there we are, you can put it back now” 😡
Usually that is OK, and none of us probably mind, but once, I had a cooker to repair……….Freestanding cooker, eye level grill, blue kitchen. Pulled cooker out, changed FSD (took about 20mins), as about to put back in, cust asked….. do you mind if you hang on a sec…. I reply “go on then (thinking the cleaning materials are coming) and all of a sudden, she was laying newspaper on the floor behind the cooker 😕 I looked behind the cooker and spotted that yellow bit of wall that resembles the shape of a cooker 😯 Uh Oh… and yep, in she came with a tin of blue paint!
20 Mins later, I find myself washing paint from my hands just so I could re-connect the cooker and leave that day!!

Quite! That is what we would do….. The motor would be sold @ RRP but we would fit it FOC. We would then give 1Yr warranty on that repair. That way, any half tidy customer would see that you are acting fairly. 🙂

Yep…. but they are probably too busy with bigger offenders than to worry about a ‘little fish’! I have suggested that to the customer anyway…. simply because it annoys me that I have to pay my VAT, every 3 Months, without exception + Accountants fees to add it all up……. and that joker can claim it and pocket it…..Not ON!!
I hope that he does get a tug…. 😀

Somebody used my card in Finland a few weeks back….. 😯
As I were paying for items in Halfords, my card declined, then the machine instructed her to call the bank.. Bank lady told me they had put a temporary stop on my card as it was used in Finland @ 10.06 and in the UK (by me) @ 12.45 on the same day which had alerted the bank…… NICE ONE :tup: , I now have a new card and I’m abit more fussy on where i use it!
