Hi WQ
How is Mr WQ?
Is this part of his recuperation lol.
Don
Hee Hee! I may even join him! Thanks for asking about him. That is most kind.
At the moment he is well, we have to go on the 27 of Dec to the hospital for him to have a scan of his veins and arteries. This is because of the heart failure, his venous pressure is a little low. They are concerned that with the low pressure, the formation of a fistula (joining of artery and vein together) in order to create an access point for dialysis may be a bit of a problem. – Fingers Crossed! & then back to kidney clinic on the 28th of Dec for a review.

Then indeed I have sinned Martin, because I have ordered & paid for the two warranties, on the evening of my post (wed) for & on behalf of my sister. It wasn’t a great deal of cash (about £69 for the two) – I wasn’t aware this site did warranties?
I have also got the pleasure of her company on Xmas Day, no-doubt it will be sherry and scandal all round. (Mr. WQ tells me he is emigrating. He finds her constant yakking irritating. – I on the other hand are well used to her. It was the same when we were kids. Still she is my flesh and blood……takes after our Mam.) 😆

cheers christine 154The dehumidifier some of them are made by a firm called GET Plc. (some were branded GET, some were branded Challenge) Best to contact ARGOS Customer Services as they can advise you better as to who the OEM actually is & sort you out with the relevant instruction manual.

You can indeed still buy Remington Shavers. (Victor Kiam sadly no more but UK company is now owned by Spectrum Brands)
I know this because (time for a rant 👿 ) I had to buy my hubby one (F5 Titanium) because of ruddy Phillips. Yes you heard right, Phillips! The toads, have changed the design of their coolskin shavers range & so the new cool skin do-dah is not compatible with the old coolskin that used pouches. Our local Tesco has stopped selling the old pouches and only stocks the new one. Was I buffalo going to pay Phillips £90 for a new cool skin shaver for hubby. (not that i begrudge my hubby anything i hasten to add……) OK rant over!
So yes you can buy Remington! & the Remmy F5 is washable & for £30 is very reasonable IMO.Now as for Adam, well hon, be grateful you don’t have to shave your legs, because you won’t know pain like it, until you try an Epilady or a Braun Silk’O Pil. (Nasty Depilatory Gadgets….probably invented by a man that rips ones hairs out by the root ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH) & then there is the DREADED BIKINI LINE………. :eeek:

The only problem with Henry is, ‘e lack the suction. Henry dont pick the dirt up like the othda makes. What? Like WQ said, Henry certainly doesn’t lack suction. I even tried this. I vacuumed up with Henry, he was about half-full, and then vacummed all around the house again with an empty VAX cyclonic, of which is supposed to be uber ‘powerful’. After emptying the Vax, there was only a bit of fluff and a few hairs inside it.
I think that is a very sweet & noble thing to have done, just to defend my honour! – Thank you Adam. I much appreciate it.

I am afraid I politely disagree! 🙂 As I first stated I used them years ago at Northumbrian Water where I cleaned the Geology labs for pin money & they were very good, especially after the young lads had been out in the fields, coming back with their muddy boots on, all over the back office carpets.
Over the years, I have makes from Dyson, Vax, Leccy Lux, JMB, Miele, Dirt Devil, Onn (Asda’s own make) & all have promised so much & delivered bot all! Indeed, after yet another dismal failure with a so-called Cyclonic Bagless, I have bought a Henry Extra last week from Viking-Direct and have been delighted with its performance. My rather elderly dog is a cross Alsatian Whippet & her hair is like needles & sticks to anything & everyone!. Henry with the Turbo brush has gone straight in there, and picked up her hair, & judging from the bag, it is full of her wool.
I also much prefer the improved features of being able to switch the motor down to a less powerful suction, when cleaning the laminate.WQ

Good luck with the new Henry!Hi Adam,
Thanks for your wishes. It’s a bit scary at the moment because the creatine levels are rising as well as the urea. – Me thinks that dialysis will come sooner rather than later. We keep our fingers crossed that the levels will drop a little.

I am beginning to think I should keep my mouth shut! 🙁
My Vax Cadence has given up the ghost this am & although it is under warranty, I just can’t be bothered with Vax’s Customer Service (or should that be dis-service?) Line anymore It only cost me £9 anyway, so I can afford the loss.I have ordered on my Viking Account a Henry Extra which will be here in the morning, so you can’t say I don’t put my money where my mouth is!!! Even if it is some 9-10yrs since I last used a Henry.
Let us hope I am not disappointed, as everything these days is changed spec & not always for the better.
Such is life, I suppose.

PS My hubby is still quite poorly, I was up at Renal Clinic yesterday with him & we have to go again on Fri.

Sorry to hear about your husband. 🙁
Yes, Aquados does so far as I can tell clean just as well as Ariel or, put it this way, most people would notice virtually no difference. I’d say give it a try, the worst it’s going to cost is £2.99 to give it a whirl if you have a Morrison’s nearby.
Even then Aquados do offer a warranty that it will do the job, but it does and we know that already. 😉

Thanks Kwatt, appreciate that! (The joys of life I suppose)
Do you know if it has any adverse effects on the machine? i.e. Going to goo, block pump etc etc.?

tphj wrote:Henry vacuum cleaners are they good, bad or indifferent
They are very good especially in a commercial environment. I worked for a year to supplement my income for Northumbrian Water’s Exploration Associates and they had them. (10yrs ago) They were very good at picking up dried in mud from the Geology Labs. – The Turbo Brush is available as an extra accessory & that used to be powered, I am sure if memory serves me correctly there was a little pin do-dah at the back of Henry that it plugged into. – Of course the new ones maybe air powered driven, I don’t know, you would need to check. – Genuine bags were expensive from Nu-matic, but Viking Direct used to sell a cheaper generic, which was just as good.
Strongly Recommend! 😀

http://www.whitegoodshelp.co.uk/wordpress/you-dont-just-use-one-detergent-do-you/Think the general concensus is to use a powder for your whites (They contain bleach) and use a liquid or colour friendly powder for your coloured’s.
I’m using these at the moment for my whites
http://www.simplywashing.com/which I am really happy with. Really easy to use.
There is also a good article on this site about Bio v Non Bio detergent but I cannot find the link at the moment.
Does the aquados clean heavily soiled items as good as a conventional detergent? I am asking because my hubby has kidney failure and at the moment with the phosphate levels being through the roof, Ariel is irritating his skin. (My hubby has been very poorly over these last few weeks, hence why I have been absent from the forums)
