Many, many, many Corgi engineers are very pleased with this for varying reasons, count me in as one of them.

ParticipantI got 2 credit authorisations yesterday for Micromark cookers.

ParticipantWe used 1.5mm flex.

ParticipantAlthough I prefer it, its not a given that a 900mm single cavity multifunction oven has to have a cooker socket, for example a Stoves 900dfa can run from a 13amp supply, Stoves always recommend using a fused spur though for a better and more stable connection than a 3 pin plug, if the plug is getting red hot it may suggest that arching may be happening within the socket, the exact reason why Stoves recommend a spur.

of course! your mates said it, so it must be true eh?at comet, we SEE the figures, we dont listen to our mates, we know where we stand
Well seeing as my friend works for best buy in america and moves to the UK in january to assist in the store roll out its a bit more reliable than a “me mate sez” story.
Please tell me what figures you see that we can’t, because as its a listed company we can see as much as you.

They are in the same bracket as they are both doing poorly, comet is stronger than currys at the moment but like I say, bestbuy isnt far away now, its going to get alot tougher for them both.
wsts, sorry mate your information is based on what? We are definitely not in the same boat, its tough for everyone out there, independants included, some of us are in a position to weather this, bestbuy do not have the infrastructure in place to compete with us or Currys, all competition is good though, the customer is the winner, no bad thing.Based on a friend of mine is involved in the best buy roll out starting in January, and has told me a bit about what is happening,The retailer has previously told PC Retail that it expects to open around 200 stores by the end of 2009, with store sizes varying between 40,000 and 60,000 sq ft.
Do you seriously think that best buy would spend 1.1 billion to just “dip their toe in the water” ?

Significant drop in sales at Comet reported in September plunges them into the red, worse to come ? We will see but I dont think that anything done recently (vat drop etc.) is going to make a major difference.

ParticipantThe gap at the top of the oven door seal is the flue, expect alot of heat escape from it, its only the same as any other gas oven except you notice it more because its coming out of the front rather than the back.

ParticipantI’ve had them approach me as I do LPG cookers, but havent got back to them yet, apparently they have hardly any cover for LPG.

ParticipantIs it a gas oven ?

ParticipantNot good for either Currys or Comet at the minute, both are suffering big time up against internet sales, may get tougher in January when Bestbuy start rolling out their UK operation too.

ParticipantWell the place at Huthwaite never closed in the end, they are now trading under a different name,

Good for me as I cant be arsed with doing appliance sales so I have somewhere to send customers and in turn they give out my card to people who want installs.

ParticipantTerminal block is always worth a close look if the thermal fuse is ok.
wsts
ParticipantSome new world ranges are made by beko so it could be a thermal fuse problem.

ParticipantCut about 2 inches off the spark cable in the main oven and attach a new spade end, it may not look damaged but it is inside the cable, was a regular fault with these ovens.
