    Re: Debor Glue

ive got a huge dollop of debour in the back pouch of my toolbox, that in itself is a lasting reminder never to leave in toobox again….

i still use it for sealing t/stat gaskets and for the drain hose of servis door seals other than that not much call for it.

ps it doesnt seal a cracked tub 😳

I expect you’ve bumped into them a few times as well I’m sure. 😉

just the other week in fact, Hygena washer dryer no spin, the customer couldnt wait for us as we were fully booked so they called THEM out, they quoted on motor and module or a new machine (the price they quoted was actually very reasonable for the machine) the customer wasnt happy as the engineer had only been in the house 2 minutes, we went out a few days later at her request, it needed a 20uf capacitor £8.65 for parts plus labour…

funny i had a call yesterday, guy had been out and quoted for motor and module but said parts were obsulete and tryed to punt them a new machine, cust wanted a second opinion and phoned us out.

exact same fault needing a 20uf cap…..do these guys not know how to diagnose or at they just chancers????

ps my “guys” are not the ones you speak of just appear to be of a similar mould….

i must confess i have used the “machine in the van but its meant for someone else” sales pitch a few times even had 1 customer offer me £50 extra to give it to him if he got it that day!!!

if i had a bigger van i would always carry one, nothing wrong and comes in handy more times than it causes bother!!

OWI fault, optical water indicator, check in the sump there is a black grid, it will be gunged up clean with a small brush or something and retest should be ok.

you can twist out the OWI fromunderneath for extreme cases but usually ok to clean in sump.

    Re: Indesit IDL40S D/W

there is some tech info kicking around somewhere about these, apparantly the seal is too long and if it foams up it leaks from seal, you need to trim the seal, now dont quote me but i think you cut it back so there is no excess at all folding over onto base( if you know what i mean)

you said it m8, dont touch with a bargepole, i think its e2 or e3 error code could be a heater or stat fault but had a couple lately which i finally tracked down to badly crimped spades at the board and down at the heater.

    trust me dont go there.
