    You were correct not to toutch it Pat.
    The land lord should have had a current safety certificate.
    Your next step should be to report it to RIDDOR.
    They will get to the bottom of it regarding the landlord and the installer.
    Hopefully some cowboy will be brought to justice.

    Being corgi registered myself, i am sick to death of cowboy installations and the jokers that employ them to do the work in the first place.

    You could be right, disconnect the cooling fan and try the oven.
    No trip= cooling fan fault. 😉

    Could be located near the boiler tank or mounted in the area around the tank.
    What you are looking for is the capilary wire coming out of the tank and follow that back to the stat body where you should find the reset button.
    This sometimes has a black screw-on cover which has to be removed so as you can press the reset.

    Check for tripped safety thermostat, this can be reset by pushing in small button in centre of stat. 😉

    As far as i know you only pay Capita, Corgi are around for some reason but you dont have to register with them.
