Interesting…what was happening to the wash pumps then …runing to slow..? or..cutting out…??
yes ive used the quick wash to get it to heat , i will try the other programes and see what happens

thanks chaps for the help on this

    Smeg A2 wont spark?

    Hi

In that case you will need to get an engineer out as due to the liabilities we cannot explain fully but point you in the areas of what would normally be faulty.

And yes it should be a easy fix.

    Hi

it’ll be the switch web that will most likely be faulty.

Re: Belling IDW604 thermostat switch defective?

    Hello,

Yes, it does heat. In fact on this cycle it periodically heats and then turns off the heater, which I presume is part of the cycle.

Just before it stopped though, the outer skin of the dw was really hot – too hot to touch.

The thermistor had become partially unstuck from the base leaving about a 1 mm gap on one side but still attached on the other side. It is attached with a conductivity material.

When I pressed the thermistor and assembly back up to the base, the machine stopped and partially drained.

This with the fact that it ran for about two hours (too long I think?) up to this and leads me to presume that it is the thermistor – though I would like to test it conclusively (see below)

Also, there is a separate cold rinse only cycle on these machines and this works fine – I presume the thermistor has no function in this cycle.

I did not look at the panel to see if an error code was present.

I now understand what you say that there is no ‘trip’ with a thermistor. But surely, I should get a resistance reading the hotter or cooler the thermistor becomes?

I only get a reading of infinity on the ohmmeter regardless if the thermistor is applied to a boiling kettle or left in the fridge.

Is there another way to test the thermistor?

    regards,

Re: new software for service/stock/data management

After a long time deliberating over a new system and trying out different versions we decided 2 months ago to use the new hatchgate software,

Since that time Paul the developer has re written parts of the programme and has adapted the system to help it work perfectly with our individual needs, these changes have also been updated for other companies
I know Peter Jay services have shown off this programme before at a UKWG conference and he has always said how good it is but I have to disagree its not just good it is excellent

The ability for clients to book their own calls on line, also the ability for each individual customer to then get real time updates on their job has saved us so much time in the office , also the ability to text and email customers directly from the system and ease of use is a real bonus.

The stock control system has also saved us a lot of time in the office, Paul has written a neat little programme that allows the orders to be exported so you can import them directly into Connects (electrue’s) ordering basket, he is also in talks with other companies to make this possible on their systems, when ordering 30-40 parts a day from 3-4 suppliers this can save so much time.

i really cant recomend this enough
