    Re: Why be gas safe

    Hi

It’s not an offence or any breach of any regulation when you install your own gas appliance..( health & safety exec) are one responsible for that.

It’s only an offence if you get paid to do it.. So who’s to blame ?? HSE.

Yes Manufacturers should be tougher on customers and state that if the fault is not a manufacturing defect then they must pay for the repair or visit..But you have no chance on that as they are scared to lose the customer. Ive had tis argument for years with service managers but no use.We take a tough line that if it’s not done right then we won’t repair and issue a warning notice.

But there again the gas warnings have also been down graded and they aren’t worth the paper they are written on as it only covers your back when something goes wrong and someone is killed..Even then you’ll be beaten up to get any and all answers out of you so that they can pass the buck onto someone.

    Rant over !!

    Hi

I have the chute assembly in stock and you need to remove the control panel. done my grabbing the bottom of the panel with your fingers and pull outwards gently if its been off before. Or a knife between the panel and the door,If you look up from the floor you will see a couple of spaces to lever from.

    Re: Rosieres Paul Bocuse

All I can suggest is insure it with d&g and have the manufacturer out to it the parts are very expensive as they are made by the candy group

D&G will not cover it as it is over 15yrs old. Yes it can be repaired by an engineer who knows or is prepared to work on one but most run a mile.

Left hand oven would normally be the base element ( simple repair ) Not sure what you mean by fan oven as that is also on the left oven.R/h oven is a standard convection oven (top & bottom element).

Left hand oven dependent on its variant is grill, grill with fan, convection oven, or fan oven with grill.

Dependent on how long your prepared to wait depends if I can do it when I am out of my normal area closer to you.I hold the parts in stock.

Re: Beko CDA543FW-2 fridge freezer air sensor replacement

Just FYI, as the original poster of this thread, I found that the freezer wasn’t keeping the temperature quite as well as I thought a while back and I got sick of messing about with timers. This and concerns expressed here about using a timer on a broken fridge freezer pushed me to get the thing fixed professionally. However, on calling my local engineer, he said it really wasn’t worth the callout, parts and labour (and he’s cheap!) to fix a f/f of that age, mainly because it could entail digging about in the insulation. I trust the guy – he’s been great – so we headed over to Curry’s and bought a new one…not Beko, obviously. All the best – I’ll be unsubscribing now.

Re: Indesit IWC 8123 All LEDS Flashing

    The logic board has blown.

Two Caps, a resistor and a transitor at least.

Whilst I can find another board for not too much money, i could really do with it tomorrow, so it looks like a run to our friendly white goods supplier for a new machine.

    Hi

The old seal is cut out and new one is screwed in. Other option is to order complete door at a massive cost with a bonded door seal.

I did, but very politely… never burn bridges unless I have to 😉

I just pour a couple of gallons of aviation fuel over it.

    Hi

Using liquid detergents not carrying out hot washes and not doing service washes will cause this issue.
