Whirlpool used to be a good machine, but you can tell when they dropped the warranty from ten years to eight and then to a one years warranty that the quality had gone down hill, the price of the parts howver has gone through the roof

    Jim,
for cost effective is much easier to buy or to make your self an eeprom programer like Ponyprog… only you need to do this are some (few) electronic components and an soldering iron (I made myself hardware part and costs was arround 2 euros)… and after that download for free the software from “Lancos” ( http://ponyprog.sourceforge.net ) and it’s done…
Only problem is that you need an computer with serial(DB9) or paralel /printer(DB25) port…

P.S. At that address are also electronic scheme/diagram and PCB design too…

Now if only I could get someone to rewrite the eeprom on the displaced PCB I would be even more pleased. 😉

    Jim.
Now, if you have no more in hands the new/good PCB on hand (in order to read and store eeprom content) is a missing job…

In order to rewrite eprom you have to find an local “TV” repair “guru”/guy :rolls: and he will do the job… 😉

im sat here alone in the office, its now just shy of 12.00am .. the phone rings…
    i say “hello Apple Electrics”
man says “oh i didnt expect anyone to be there at this time of night”
