There’s loads you can only do with the machine out, for 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of repairs I should imagine, it’s gotta come out.

The sludge, if it’s like a goo, is overdosing on detergent most likely and probably from liguid detergent.

Re: blomberg 1301ABB dead after controller/interlock replace

    Progress !

I have managed to make the machine recognise that all is well with the interlock by pushing the white plate that the latch presses on down. The machine then runs, all is well and good.

    BUT

Regardless of how long after the completed cycle, you can’t disengage the door lock by pulling on the cable, nor will the plate travel back up under slight pressure. To release the door I had to insert a screwdriver through the hole in the backof the interlock – hardly ideal.

Is this a faulty interlock, or is there some subtlety in installation I’m not getting?

    Re: SlimLine Dishwashers

I have a BOSCH “Classix” SRS43C12GB slimline dishwasher, excellent machine, does what it says on the tin with no fuss, extremely quiet and makes a great job of the dishes….also being a slimline model you would think that equals little space inside , but I can assure you that it takes most things easily and does a great job!

Also the controls are simple, non fancy and gives a wide choice of programmes to use. I find the ECO 50oC washes as well as the main 65oC wash, there is also a quick wash for lightly soiled dishes. Its a great machine, solid and reliable….worth every penny!

I would recommend that you look at these forums before you decide though…..and I would steer you away from Hotpoint/Indesit

If you want to find the cheapest one do a search for the model on http://www.Kelkoo.co.uk type in Bosch SRS43C12GB and you will find the cheapest price, currently I found it retailing for £231.99 including delivery. Remember also that Bosch appliances come with a 2 year guarantee and are very reliable machines overall with great service if anything should go wrong

Re: Domestic Appliance Horror Stories ?

I recently bought a Hotpoint “ULTIMA” EW86X cooker, In the space of two weeks Im now on my 5th one, 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th came with serious damage (despite undamaged outer packaging!) on the 4th cooker the electrical connector unit on the rear came away in the electricians hand (240V connection unit held to cooker by 2 flimsy plastic clips!!!!) So all in all, it took 5 deliveries to get ONE that was perfect. Makes me wonder if they are leaving the Hotpoint factory in that condition, no wonder there are so many complaints and horror stories about Hotpoint/Indesit or any other Merloni owned brand. In my humble consumer opinion, Hotpoint design, construction and after sales care are ALL utterly ABYSMAL and pathetic. Their motto is “DESIGNED FOR THE REAL WORLD” what a joke…..Hotpoint don’t have a clue what a real world actually is, if they did they would sort their business practices out and stop claiming to be something they most definetely are not!

I will never again purchase a product manufactured by Merloni/Indesit Company

I advise anyone else to stay clear of any of the following brands HOTPOINT, CREDA, INDESIT, ARISTON, SCHOLTE’S they are all owned by Merloni and they are basically all the same appliances with different badges which equals the same horrendous levels of after sales care and non existent service…think twice before you buy!

I have had good service over the years from Zanussi and AEG (Electrolux group) and I found Whirlpool to be fine when I needed them.

If you would like to see for yourself…..

Compare things like build quality….for example, I was looking at condenser dryers recently ….Zanussi dryers appeared solid, knobs, clips door etc all pretty solid….Hotpoint dryers in comparison, cheap plasticy wobbly bits, flimsy door etc…speaks volumes doesn’t it!

    Re: Top Loading Dishwasher?

Sorry for the triple post but I can’t edit being a guest.

Since these appear as rare as rocking horse………I was considering getting one of the table-top type dishwashers. However I would like to put it under my sink, although not sure how much room I have available under there at the mo. One pitfall I can envisage is the waster outlet, since it may have to go ‘upfill’ to join the waster pipe or at least horizontally. Anyone know if these generally drain by gravity, are pumped, whether they have a non-return valve? Any suggestions/recommendations, advice or problems I haven’t though of?

Hhmmmm, first time buyer and suddently I am all excited about white goods……..

    Re: Diplomat DIshwasher ADP 8132

I had an engineer look at it, and it turned out to be that the door latch was stuck in the open position, so when I turned the power on with the door open, it thought the machine had been opened in mid cycle. It was a simple job for the engineer to reset the latch. THanks for the help.
