KeymasterRe: Bosch Dishwasher not draining
Thinking of buying a Bosch champion sgs55E12 – is it better than the sgs45202?? I have had a bosch for 15 years which has done well but leaking.
How long is the normal programme?
Thanks

Thanks for such a prompt reply Martin!
Are these easy to fit or should I get someone out to do it?admin
KeymasterRe: Which- online
Sorry Martin I aren’t spending so much time on line at present been doing other things.
To the best of my knowledge once upon a time T Bailey was a Dasa member but not when the article in Which was carried out. Again if my memory serves me correctly this all happen when Chris dealt with matters and I am sure he set the record right with Which.
If you want to know any more I sure Mark remembers it.
Regards as always

E2 which is flood sensor at the bottom is activated by water leaking into the base or if the mc does not fill fast enough due to restriction between airbreak and sump or one way flap in sump is restricted or airbreak is clogged up with crap. These will all set of the airside of the flood switch

I cannot remember what the model no is but the lights u describe to my knowledge are on the top of the door edge as u open it ,if the flood switch is being operated it could be a leak but also in the sump of the appliance under the filter is a rubber flap if this is obstucted or if their is a build up of sludge behind the flap to the airbreak, then the water will not enter the mc quickly enough, raising the water level in the airbreak triggering the air presure side of the switch to operate. The fill pipe from sump to airbreak can be roded out with a piece of hose

SUCCESS !
It turns out that the cable had shrunk after all. Honest. Well, not really, but it must have been on the edge of tolerance, so all I did was trim two “rings” off one end with a junior hacksaw, while making very certain not to damage the cable, and all is now functioning perfectly.
I did give some thought to hanging the door the other way in order to prevent this, but in the meantime I’ve settled for insulating the contacts and the interlock body with a plastic bag – I need to get the wash pile down a bit !
Anyway, thanks for all your help, especially Mr Penguin45.
Cheers,

KeymasterRe: F&P Smartdrive GW701-U problem
My machine has develop exactly the same symptoms. Did you get to find out the real cause of the problem ?
My guess was that the filtering of the powersupply to the CPU controller was starting to deteriorate and that the power surges to the triacs was affecting the logic of the controller. I also noticed that the machine would occasionally step backwards from spin to the rinse cycle.admin
KeymasterRe: Indesit Dishwashers and their Problems
All’s well that ends well, or so they say.
Have sold the little bu@@er, and glad to be rid of it. Bought a nice 2nd hand Fisher & Paykel model, and it hasn’t let me down yet.
Can only say I’ve learnt my lesson and won’t touch Indesit again.
Thanks to everyone who helped.

KeymasterRe: Diplomat Dishwasher not washing!
Not found the model number yet but after a good clean out including the filter (to stop it smelling) it still didn’t work although just tried it again (empty) tonight and off it went so it looks to have recovered. I wonder how short-lived the recovery will be? I suspect it will wait until it’s full again and decide to go back on strike!

Trullt bizarre – the pips are fully engaged, and the sleeve is as far as it will go, tight against the plastic of the housing. And STILL it’s a fraction short 🙁
It can’t be the mounting, as it’s done via pre-drilled holes.
I don’t suppose I’ve got a cable and an interlock on the edge of tolerance and I’ve just been unlucky?
More importantly, what to do now?
I must say, many thanks for all your help so far, it’s been most enlighening ( and very generous of you all ! )
Cheers,

Thanks! I sort of figured after I posted that they where different.
Check with the suplier mentioned above they have a number of them so I just need a fitter to replace it. Blackpools a bit far for me I live in Manchester.
Thanks for the advice.

Hmm.
Having removed the release cable, it seems the lock is free to depress, indicating that the cable is at fault.
It’s like the release cable is suddenly 5mm too short.
And steel cable not bwing known for it’s rapid shrinkage, I’m guessing it’s my cack-handed fitting. Is there anything I should check for, as the sleeve appears to touch the plastic at each end?
