Re: Electrolux ESi 602 keeps filling up

Thank you for your opinions. It would, as you correctly suggest, be madness to run an appliance without testing. Hence the discovery of the fault. Throughout your responses I note that you seem to consider my approach concerning. You must bare in mind I have two degrees in the physical sciences and my original posting asked how the water was cut off. The question has now been answered. There are a number of logical ways that water could be cut off in a domestic appliance, the use of flow meters, the detection of pressure changes, time w.r.t flow, light transmission, float chambers, electrical conductivity, mass change. These are all obvious to anyone with a scienific background and I am particularly interested in automotive technology given my background.

My simple question seemed to launch a tyrade of abuse about how I should leave it to the experts. Go to Halfords, buy a distributor cap and I am not told to leave it alone in case of an electric shock, or likewise don’t change your car wheel or it may fall off and kill you. ‘Supercaution’ is a current epidemic. Caution is common sense.

    Re: Diplomat 8702 Washer Dryer

Hi guys I was wondering if you can help?

I have recently bought a flat and all the whitegoods came with the property. however I have all the instruction manuals apart from the washing machine. (You guessed it) The washing machine is a Diplomat 8702 washer dryer. Do you know where I can get a copy of the instruction booklet because I have been having some problems using the dryer programs.

    Cheers

Re: Bosch not taking in enough water

Thanks Penguin45 I think I see what is going on.

This maybe explains why the tank the hose is connected to is bone dry. From what you’re saying the switch should get triggered once the main tank has filled and the overflow starts going into the bottom tank.

The program then stops the water coming in and the water in the bottom tank drains into the sump.

Re: Bosch not taking in enough water

    Thanks Martin and Penguin45.

I’ve had to put the machine away for tonight – hopefully get another go at this tomorrow night.

Looks like getting at the other end of the hose is tricky – can you recommend the best way to get at it – removal of another panel perhaps.

I’m curious now as to how this operates. Looking at the tank the hose is connected to, there is a hinged bit of plastic at the top which looks like it trips a switch when the tank fills up. What is the purpose of this switch.

From what Martin was saying it looks like the hose is blocked and as a result the overflow on the tank is letting the excess water into the floor tray which is operating the water cut off.

    Re: Hoover Softwave 1100 washer/dryer

Sorry, no – its the inner door trim I need – the small plastic clip on it that locks into the machine has broken off. Its the same make & model as the original post – Hoover Washer/Dryer Soft Wave 1100.

I had a look at the part linked to above but it looks slightly different from mine. Model no. is A87547040037.

    Thanks.

Hi I’ve also just suffered the same problem. I have model number
A875470400374 on the machine. Can you please advise me if there’s a part of this?
    Thanks very much.

Sorry, I believe that’s the ‘technical’ term (or at least its printed in the installation guide) for the plasic clips that fasten a cabinet door front to the built-in dishwasher.

    Lecht model number WQP12-6015

    Martin and BHS-MAN,
Thanks for the prompt reply. Very glad that I checked first. I had checked the filter and impellor but had another go and discovered a white paper clip was blocking the impellor about half way through a turn, which is why I missed it the first time.

Thanks so much for your help.

Re: Bosch not taking in enough water

Just been trying a piece of coax cable (ends smoothed off). It goes in for just over a foot – would you expect it to go further.

Trying to avoid disconnecting the other end.

    Thanks

Re: Bosch not taking in enough water

    Hi

left side now off and black hose disconnected. Some crud came out but not a lot.

The tank it was connected to looks like it is bone dry.

When I was tilting the dishwasher forward water was coming out on to the floor.

Does it still sound like the black hose is blocked?

I tried to clean it by squeezing it along its length – it looks like it might be tricky to disconnect it at both ends.

    Thanks.
