The only non obvious problem I have come across is the door locks, usually replace if no obvious “short” is found, seems to work for us.

KeymasterRe: Brandt Review
I guess there always has to be balance……
Having sorted our problems out with Brandt via D&G we have been hitting 70{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} 1st time completion, with lots of effort put into that. True spares were an issue but I have no others, and the chargeable work passed has been exceptionally profitable (£80.00 + vat for labour).
So, I’m pleased to retain the work and will look forward to CDSL sorting the spares problem out. If CDSL have taken this on they surely have done so knowing the problems raised in these very pages, therefore I expect an improvement of the contract as a whole.
The track record of CDSL so far has been excellent, it certainly deserves my support to make this work.
So, I’m well pleased.

Thanks DP, I know what you mean about the stcking plasters!!! I have already attempted a partial removal and that was bad enough.
I am concerned about the pipework as I am going to have to pull the exchanger/cooler out quite a long way to pull the element out from the bottom – so I will be careful.
Yes the element was the only item disconnected from the power supply – I guess the diagnosis still stands up?.
Thanks for the advice

looks like whoever mentioned the defrost circuit only lasting about a week was right!! seems to have shutdown completely now, i know the previous answer was to call an engineer, but any technical info on how the defrost circuit works & obviously as it cant be dealt with specifically a general overview would be much appreciated. 🙁

Thanks a million for these notes. I have just repaired my Siemens dishwasher by inserting the copper link as for the Bosch. I think they are the same model. 😀

STOP PRESS
I have now disconnected the defrost element and put the timer into defrost mode, and all is fine the RCD does not trip – reconnect it, and it trips again. So K’s diagnosis looks spot on.
Any engineers out there know if I can replace this myself? It looks like just disconnect and ‘wiggle out from the elements? Or is it a re-gas.
Should I obtain the element from Whirlpool or is there a better source?
Thanks and Regards

KeymasterRe: Whirlpool Fridge Freezer ART700 throwing house RCD trip
Thanks K. One thing I forgot to mention was that this fault only occured after turning the unit off and moving it, to have a kitchen floor installed – would this have any bearing on anything?
I want to investigate the defrost system first. This is a frost free unit so that we never actually manually defrost the freezer. I take it the defroster system you are refering to deals with the defrosting of the cooling system rather than the unit itself?
Thanks Pablo

KeymasterRe: diplomat dishwasher
There is power in the machine when the power button (the first on the left) is pushed in, as I expect the little light on the right side is indicating.
The machine cannot be started by pressing the start pushbutton which is the second on the left. -
