Re: Fitting belt on Zanussi Dryer

dont know if this will be much help, but i also tried replacing my fan belt on the same dryer. it took 5 hours (being inexperienced of course) i had seemed to try it every way possible. ifi am not mistaken the spring attached to the motor seemed to have been in the wrong position ( maybe had somehow gotten loose when the fan belt broke) i took off the spring and reattached it with a lot of tension and that seemed to place the fan belt in the right position. i hope i maake a little sense, it is from memory of 1 very long night 6 months ago.

    Re: hygena AHY8102 help?

Oliflick, I got the exact same dishwahser (AHY8102) and had exactly the same problem (put washing up liquid in). I rinsed out etc, etc and found that it still would not complete it’s cycle.

The answer I found was to bring the dishwasher out from under the kitchen unit, obviously disconnect the mains and watch you dont put too much stress on the water supply.

Then take off the right hand side of the dishwasher (large panel). Open the door and there is 2 screws, remove these. There are another 2 screws under the door and then there are three screws at the back. Lift the side panel and this comes off.

This dishwasher has one safety resettable thermostat. This is the on the bottom right hand side of the unit (looking from the front) and is easy to spot as this is like a little red nipple. There is only one of these in this unit so you can miss this. Press the little red blighter down and hey presto, it resets and all is fine.

What I did to mine was to first empty the washer using the drain timer setting at the front bottom of the machine. There is a black cover under the door, held on with 2 screws. If you set this to the 12 O’clock position this empties the unit.

Simple, it works, believe me, I did this …….

Re: Zanussi ZVF 45R – Only freezes on fastfreeze

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for the reply. There’s no noise from the unit, at least nothing out of the ordinary, but if you turn off the fast freeze then the whole thing starts to defrost.

Is fitting a new thermostat a fairly easy thing to do (I have a fairly useless boyfriend) or would I need to get someone in? Basically, I suppose, is it cheap?! 🙂

I agree the Asea is a good washer. I have one but no manual. Can you tell me the difference between the two temperature settings marked 55 and another 55~
    Thanks

Re the cost to manufacturers etc of new products.

If they can do it in Switzerland, Austria and the Netherlands, why can’t they do it here?

What incentives would they need from Govt or through subsidies i.e (Energy Saving Trust, EEC funding) to do it?

    Re: Zanussi DE6854 lights flashing

Dave, it’s a piece that is fitted on the left when looking from the front, just under the outer cover. It is the full height of the machine and has lots of internal passages, including a connection to the drying vent. Let me know if that’s the part you mean please ?
    Thanks

Re: Electrolux EOB846 Oven Grill Element

Thanks for the information. I was going to say they never make things easy – but I suppose it is easy if you know what you are doing! 😕
Despite being a mere slip of a girl, I will have a go myself and will switch the electric off first. 😉
Any tips, let me know – I prefer being told what is bleeding obvious to the rest of the planet! 😳

I notice on another thread you said you could supply elements.
I have not actually obtained mine yet although I checked with my local ‘Allspares’ that they had one – which they have.
How much would you charge for obtaining and sending one to me (EOB846W1)?

    Re: Siemens Dishwasher

Thanks Martin. We checked the pump but its clean.

Have looked at the brochure that came with the machine and the machine itself (which is an integrated one – ie it sits behind a kitchen cupboard door). I may be going loopy but cannot see any serial number on the book or machine. How daft is that!

Thanks anyway. I think I’ll need to buy earplugs.

    Re: Zanussi DE6854 lights flashing

Have now found the fault, it is the water softener regen unit leaking.
    It is marked as follows:
    Bitron Tipo 428
    152.462.40 152.462.41
    152.462.42 152.462.43.
Any idea where I can get one ?
    Thanks.

Re: Whirlpool sixth sense machine keeps washing

    Dirty sensor, i think.

The infra red lens gets a slight scummy covering on it and it stops it in its tracks.
It is measuring the “turbidity” of the water and needs to be clean in order to work correctly.

If you are not competent to remove and clean, call an engineer or try our Repairs@ module
