    Re: AMERICIAN TOP LOADER

    You need to look further…

The drum has a drive block, clutch and a drive shaft, all above the gear box and one of these (inc gearbox) is where the fault lies….

The drum comes off easy enough from the top.

Hi Gegsy, It just started a couple washes ago. Otherwise it worked superbly. Now, the rinse is questionable.

Re: Zanussi skips wash to last 3 mins of programme

    Latest update:

I contacted a friendly engineer who was very helpful and sold me a recirculation pump. I fitted the replacement pump, and found the original was burnt out with bubbles of laquer from the windings showing. Afterwards there was no change in the E85 error, and the same problem exists – hence I suppose the PCB controlling the recirculation pump is kaput.

Got local engineer to come in – but he can’t do anything as he doesn’t know the Zanussi error codes, very helpful and nice bloke, but can’t do much more than me because Zanussi won’t let anyone else fix it except themselves.

Rang up Service Force – they charge £50 straight off for coming then the PCB will cost £70 to £140 and then add on VAT. All for a machine they made and broke down 2 and half years later!! Andif they can’t fixit, they charge £43 + vat just for the fun of it!!

For all that money (don’t foget I paid £24 for a new pump), £150-250, I could buy a second hand machine!

Any ideas to what I do next? Can I buy a PCB and fix it myself? Can I get the information about my washing machine to fix it? Can I get compensation from Zanussi from the small claims court for selling a machine that is ‘not fit for purpose’??

The clicking is definitely electronic, and it’s only when the drum is turning and the water is filling for the rinse cycles. The initial fill and any filling doesn’t click if the drum is not turning.

I’ve got the same problem E2 on the fridge of KK29U01GB (Siemens) – did anyone track this down. The fridge has now stopped working all together but freezer appears ok. Does it require a new board at c £150?

Hi Martin! Thanks for your reply!

😆 😆 😆 😆 About the elaborate analysis: I re-read my post and I see what you mean… sorry: I got carried away: 😀 You probably can imagine: me with a set of screwdivers, the washing machine in the middle of the kitchen: that’s it I was off!!!! 😀 😀 😀

Ok more seriously now: As far as I can remember (and we bought this machine brand new at the time – nearly 7 or 8 years ago!), the clothes always used to come out warm (and we normally always use the 50degree cycle) … that until 2 weeks ago and now they are rather cold.
I believe I could also feel some warmth through the door, but not now.

Martin, I see that you answered another of today’s post, which is in fact similar to mine, about cold clothes… Any thoughts you may have on how I could investigate this further would be very welcome.

And thank you for the tip on putting the metal ring back!

    Cheers,

    David

    Re: Bosch SGS47E02 mystery programme

Aha, all is clear. I suppose that is the ‘automatic’ part of ‘Auto’. Still, feel mildly ripped off / misled, tho not enough to make a fuss – its nice to have a conscious choice about which programme to use and not to .have it done for you. As I said, not at all clear from manufacturers blurb. Thanks everyone who replied.

Re: Electrolux Built in double oven fault

Hi just to let you know that I have now replaced the fan element in my oven and all is working fine. It was clear when access was gained to the element that it was blown and when removed it reads open circuit across the contacts but only 430 ohms between the neutral side and earth. Thanks again for all you help and the last comment from Clive,
    Cheers Paul.

Re: Gay rights for Penguins !!

A petrol attendent is filling a man’s car, when he notices that a small penguin was sitting in the back seat.
The attendant turns to the man and asks what the deal is with the penguin.
“Well” the man says. “I found the little guy a few weeks ago wandering around looking sad. I’ve been going crazy thinking of things I can do for him.”
“There’s a zoo just down the road,” replies the attendant. “Why don’t you take him there”.
The man thanks the attendant, pays, and drives off to the zoo.
A few days later the man pulls up to the petrol station and again is met by the attendant who notices that the penguin is still in the back of the car.
“I thought you were taking him to the zoo” asks the attendant.
“I did thanks” answers the man. “He loved it, so I’m taking him to the beach today”.

Re: Candy Condenser Dryer – CIC60 not heating

    Thanks for the info. Dave

I had a quick look at the heater unit located on the back of the machine and I noticed that some of the wires from the heater unit seem to pass into the bottom of the machine, so I guess I need to get the drum out to access/change them.

Sounds like a job for a professional to me!

If so, by the time I’ve paid labour costs on top, think I’m tempted to look at a new machine.

I found a couple of Creda models ( TCR2 and TCR3) around the £200 mark. Any comments ?

    Can’t stretch to a Bosch I’m afraid !

    Cheers,

    Steve.
