Re: bosch dishwasher SGS5312 – stuck on rinse mode

    Martin and all,

First, thanks for narrowing down my fault finding and having had the machine unserviceable since Christmas I resigned myself to getting a new machine, as I was convinced it was the module and quotes of £40 call out and £110 part are too close to the cost of a new machine.

But I fixed it…..and if I can do it; I would think that its not too difficult. Machine has just run full cycle at right temperature with no stuck on rinse within time …. sorted.

Problem – dry solder joint inside the control module. Solution, get a soldering iron and tiny piece of solder and redo joint. It really is that simple. £110 for the part – not any more. BTW as of 24 Feb control module for 5312 on ebay for £12.50 in case you just want to swap out.

Remember when working on any electrics, the machine MUST be unplugged. Also, if you’re going near power supplies give it some time after unplugging just in case one of the power capacitors still has charge in it.

Okay getting the control module out involved undoing a few more screws, popping out the plastic retaining clips, and undoing the electrical connectors (write down where each came from just in case you forget when you come back to it in a week). Open up the control module by unhooking the plastic clips and open up like a book. The dry joint I noticed was on the larger circuit board and was one of the pins from a 12V semiconductor power regulator (one of 3 small black box things with Spule on). Get the end of the soldering iron on the dry joint on the back and apply more solder – sorted.

Re: Smeg compact DWD 44 not filling – addendum

I see it is in fact the internal flood check (float switch) which is cutting off the water flow. I have found that there is water in the sump by tipping the unit back to drain it. So the next question is obviously how is the water getting there? Is it at all possible there is a simple DIY check for the leak? Thanks in advance.

hhhmm I thought you might say that! – I will look tonight – any clues on where to look as I haven’t noticed any numbers on it before – will it be stamped on the metal or will it be on a metal name plate?
    many thanks

Only if I rapidly turn it off from 3/4-fully on.

When I turn the dishwasher water supply off and start the machine, only for diagnosis purposes, it seems the pump/valve is turning on/off/on/off in quick succesion.

Re: Fisher Paykel Washer Mainboard Fault

    Thank you Penguin45.

My washer’s model is similar as GWL09. Do you have any tech sheet that can explain the diagnostic code? I have recorded the codes below, would you please able to decode them? Thank you!

Press and hold the button of “Temperature Down”. Then press the “Power” key to turn on and get into the diagnostic mode.

The following binary codes show the different levels of the spin speed—from high (all 4 lights lighted- 1111) to low (all 4 lights blacked out- 0000):

    0010 1010

    0001 1011

    0011 0010

    0001 0010 Flashed with 0001 0001 in turn

    1111 1111

    0000 0100

    1000 0101

    0001 1000 Flashed with 0001 0111 in turn

    0000 0001

    0000 0100

    1000 0101

    0000 0010

    0011 0010

    0000 0000 Flashed with 0000 0001 in turn

Re: Indesit WE16 – noisy when spinning

You say you are never buying Indesit again, but most machines today would react the same way if you try to wash scissors in them! 😕
Have you tried having a word with your home insurance company as this would be classed as accidental damage and they should pay for the repair.

crap Company not so under standing People

    Dear Ms m

We apologise, we do not mean to waste your time, but your product is not covered by LG Electronics. When Comet
purchase products from us to supply to end users like yourself, they purchase these items at a discount on the
understanding that the products are being sold with a ‘bought out’ guarantee. This means that Comet offer their own
warranty on all LG products the sell. We really must refer yout o Comet in order to discuss this situation further.

    Yours sincerely

    LG Electronics Helpdesk

New quote LG have no compassion for its customers and if you buy from a company like comet you stand no chance in getting satisfaction and you stand to lose your money because they buy without any warrantee just because all they want to do is keep repairing it, don’t buy an extended warrantee look else where, and look for one that will replace it when it all fails

Cheers for the info. I didn’t want to force it if it was something stupid like you had to take the oven out to replace the lamp. Will try using something grippy to hold the cover to try and apply some gentle persuasion.
