    Re: Whitegoods TV show?

I think it sounds great..not sure whether I’d watch a series but definitely one or two 1 hour programme/s.

I would be particularly interested in how standards have changed since the appliances were first introduced (i.e. price competitiveness has lowered standards and also consumers can waste a lot of time comparing different bradns and there are only a few manufacturers). Also on the environmental impact of machines – both in a good and bad way. e.g when I replaced my appliances my electricity bills went down but on the other hand people replace machines more often.

Then again, not sure I am Mrs Mondeo.. I hope not anyway 😆

    Re: Any opinions on NEFF?

I got stainless steel Neff appliances (fridge, dishwasher and cooker) two years ago and no problems with any of them.

When we moved into our place (and for two years afterwards as we could not afford anything after moving in!) we had the old Neff appliances that had been there 20 years whislt it was rented out and they still worked fine. New ones are better though!

    Re: Whirlpool AWZ650 BLOWING COLD

    Hi

My Whirlpool has exactly the same fault and the Filter light is on permanently.

The condenser had gotten clogged with fluff as we did not clean it regularly.

Do I need to buy the thermostat kit too and does this mean I have to take the rear panel off to replace it?

Thanks for the fast reply Clive, my water area isn’t that hard, but the message has now changed to E2 which is the water level switch.

Going from the left, please detail which 2 leds are lit. The combination tells us a code to indicate where the fault may lie. Don’t panic about replacing PCB. Yet, anyway.

    Dear Mr Penguin,

The dishwasher has as you will know 5 LEDs. From the LHS the 1st and 4th are lit and the 5th is flashing. I hope you can help.

Re: Miele Hydromatic W698 Washing Machine

I have Bosch which is less than 2 years old. It was the top of the range one but compared to other people’s Mieles it is not as good for wash results. Also the door has broken twice.

Miele are currently offering a free parts and labour warranty of 5 years on the cheaper machines and 10 years on the more expensive ones. Regardless of where you buy it from (so cheaper online places ok)
In terms of lifetime cost, I’m sure it would work out cheaper than a Bosch and you get better wash results during that time.

    Re: AEG vs Miele

I’m sure that the machine is long bought by now 😀

But just a comment that I have read that if the clothes are rinsed well enough then actually using biological detergent if you’ve got sensitive skin would be ok. The Miele is supposed to have suprior rinsing power.

I don’t have a Miele (yet!) but have the most expensive Bosch (wish I’d bought a Miele but only the Bosch or Indesit would fit in the space! can’t wait till I move!). I find that by running clothes through another wash I can tolerate biological detergent. Whether I use non bio or bio, I am always shocked at how much detergent I see floating around in the second wash.

I hope you did get the Miele in the end. I am trying to hurry up my moving house so that I can take advantage of their current 5 and 10 year free parts and labour guarantee offer.

    Re: SMEG dishwasher Error E6

The Dishwasher is a new one EN50242

the manual does state: E6 The dishwasher fails to drain.

Although I have checked and before the cycle stalls the water is completly cold.

    Re: Servis UK Problem

At least you got action. I had an appointment likewise in January. Engineer not in area so missed appointment, diagnosed over phone part needed from Italy. 3 weeks later a less than 2 year old Servis washing machine replaced with a Bosch because I was spending so much at launderette cut my losses. I am issuing a County Court summons for damages for missed appointment – EVERYONE DO THIS – Domestic & General didn’t refund policy premium of £89 but gave us the cost of the repair had it ever happened £132. Servis is Merloni which makes Indesit, Ariston, Hotpoint & Scholtes. Avoid.
As for insurance, put £1 in a money box for every wash.

    Re: Bosch SGS5302GB/09

    Hi guys,
    Thanks for all your help.

I’m trying to use that site but whenever I try to locate any of those part numbers, it just replies, ” Sorry, no results were found for ‘264877’ “, or whichever number I enter.

All I’m doing is entering the part number in the search field. Should I be doing something else as well?
