Re: this machine, my 12month service guarantee has run out by one month, I have called the repair man out 5 times so far and all he does is a two second job. The dryer cuts out and he resets it, no other problems exist. Could anyone tell me where to locate the trip as I do not know what I am looking for. Thank you.

KeymasterRe: bosch WTA 3000
Thanks Martin, I will try and find this out. I had read elsewhere on the sight that some Bosch Appliances are other machines badged as Bosch goods and not so reliable. If I find the number would you be able to tell if this machine is a Bosch or another manufacturers?

KeymasterRe: SMEG Part Numbers for Spares?
Thanks Dave.
The need for drawings/pictures seems to be reinforced by the fact that you refer to the ‘evaporator’, whereas Service Care called it the ‘icebox’ and I called it the ‘freezer compartment’. If it’s that confusing referring to a fairly major part of the appliance, no wonder it’s difficult to know what to order when you get down to the smaller parts.
I really can’t understand the OEMs not having this information on the WWW, as it must cost them a fortune supplying (and updating) information to their resellers, approved service centres and independents, not to mention the extra time/effort required of their after sales/ support/spare parts departments trying to resolve the confusion.
I remember having a similar conversation a few years ago with a car manufacturer’s approved dealer, who received a massive pack of microfiche several times a year, containing a complete set of the drawings and part numbers.Anyway, I’ll get down off my soapbox now and get back to the issue in hand…
The lady at Service Care said pretty much the same thing as you, that the evaporator door comes as a complete unit costing £40+, which I think I’ll pass on for the moment (I’ll see if I can reinforce the door handle with a piece of metal behind it, to stop it flexing/cracking when more force is needed when the door becomes frozen to the compartment).
Sadly, the latch is as you described, just the static part screwed to the side of the fridge, so the one I ordered and received is no real use to me in fixing the problem.
On the dishwasher front, the ‘door handle’ appears to be the spring-loaded flap itself (grey plastic) and the ‘cover’ appears to just be a rectangular sheet of metal which is glued to the handle, to match the exterior trim of the dishwasher (in this case stainless steel).
The handle appears to come with the two springs it needs, although they were out-of-stock when the door handle was shipped to me and in the meantime, one of the old ones has gone astray [or “been tidied-up” ;-)], so I’ll have to wait for the new springs before going ahead with the replacement. That said, SMEG Service charged me about £12.50 + P&P for the parts, so maybe the springs are not covered by the part numbers and prices you gave (either that or you get a trade discount price on them).Anyway, looks like I’ll be able to fix the dishwasher soon, the fridge may take a little longer…
Thanks again,
John.
