KeymasterIt also doesn’t inspire any confidence in taking out the extended 5 year cover that they like to push. And the Hotpoint website talks about how good their after care service is!!

Yeah I realise it isn’t their fault, its just annoying when you keep getting told that you will have a date in a couple of days, that passes and nothing happens. Call again, same response.
It has taken longer to try and get this replaced, than it did to get the new one, and that was in the run up to christmas.
In total, we have now owned the washer for approx six and a half weeks, yet it has only worked for just over two weeks!!

KeymasterThe saga goes on, fitted the new heater element and the machine does exactly the same thing. I noticed the element is getting warm even when the temp is set to zero, its possible the old element burnt out due to not having enough water in the drum. Think penguin mentioned the heater sensor once ?…still getting the same three flashes of the led any clue’s still struggling.

Just spoke to the retailer, and apparantly I will be contacted in the next 1 to 2 days with an exchange delivery date. I’ll belive it when I see it!!
I suppose I could always take the broken machine to the front of their store with all my dirty washing and see if they move a bit quicker then!!

I have spoken to the retailer once previously, and they did chase them up for me at the time and got an answer from them, but I think I will try them again.
Thanks for the advice.

KeymasterRe: temperature problems on Fridgemaster MTRL130
The other point on this model is to remember to remove the round peice of plastic that looks like a disc and not to reassemble this part when fitting a standard stat else you will havea too cold temprature problem.
this disc is the one at the very rear of the themostat capillary fixing.

KeymasterRe: ariston awd 12s margherita
Hi Dave,
Yes, he said it was the more expensive board. The total of 124 was for everything. He said he would need to take the washing machine back to shop to run it a few to make sure the board new board was working if I decided to go for it.
There wasn’t a call out charge.
He also offered a recondition board for 74 + 20 labour. Is buying a reconditioned board a bad idea?
Thanks

Hi,
The repairman came today. The machine is sending power to the dryer even before it gets to the dryer setting and even when I have not set the dryer programme at the end of the wash cycle.
The repairman thinks it is the board which controls the washing machine. He has quoted me £104 for a new board and £20 labour. Does £104 seem alot for a new board? Thanks for any help.

KeymasterRe: Homark Mod 02-700301 Typ B11 cooker light
Wonderful, thank you. The cover came off with a bit of persuasion.
The cooker was left in a real state by the last owner, I had do some serious cleaning. The lamp cover was really stiff as it was clogged up with grease and I didn’t want to try to turn it really hard until I knew that it was meant to come off that way!
Would the 25W bulb and the 15W bulb both be appropriate replacements?

KeymasterRe: Scandinova frost free freezer leaking from back to floor
Thank you for all of your support. I have tried what Sanj said and it is not freezing around the pipe any longer.
I have also noticed a black rubber tube around this pipe came off from the original place. There was also some sticky stuff, looks like sealed to avoid getting moisture in. I have re sealed this area and place the black tube back. I put some copper wire around the pipe as Sanj said, I could see the frost around the pipe vanishing straight away. My sincere thanks to everyone and special thanks to Sanj for saving me money.

KeymasterRe: Gas Tumble Dryers
Hi kwatt,
I do have the module for domestic laundry appliances – anyway – they are a very rare item – i only know 2 people that have them and they are also in the gas industry!
I am surprised that they are not more popular as they are much more cost effective to run!
Paul.
