Re: LG WM1285 THD washer (direct drive) noisey

a bearing kit is the preferred option….as there has been a mod to the outer tub which means the original direct drive motor does not fit the new tub. It involves 6 new parts and at a cost too.

Easy to see if old or new(regards to mod) Old -the drum pulley is 3 inches deep..new drum pulley is < 2 inches deep.

With new pulley, if ordering tub rear, everything is interchangeable…with old it will cost a fortune, therefore do the bearing kit!

There are mods to change the front weights and the feet to quieten down these appliances too, and the pumps are poor…standard PMP999 uni askol will fit.

    Thanks for the replies!

The Corgi side of things is not a problem – I have the neccessary qualifications to do the work!

So I think this is a safe bet to buy this Dryer then – thanks again for the advice.

I’ve no wish to be rude to you Rocket….but where have you been since you joined 14 months ago????

To come on with such a post is highly suspicious, as Dave has already picked up on, I advise caution to all until Rocket answers Daves question.

This may be the rumour mill but you should not abuse the basic fundamental of “Being Nice”

    Re: Siemens fridge/freezer help please.

    Hello people,

After reading the discussion board Im convinced I have the same problem with my Siemen’s fridge freezer – the electronics board.

So where is everyone obtaining this repair kit from please? Living in Leicester, is there somewhere local I can obtain this from, or what is the number for Siemen’s I can contact.

The other thinkg is how much does this repair kit cost? I hope not too extortionate.

    Thank you people!

    Re: Bosch T/Dryer Drum Seal

Thanks for the quick response Martin!

I know about the dismantling – I’ve had it all to bits at the weekend to try to find the source of the squealing noise!

Thanks for the advice on the part no. Coincidentlally, I’ve just had response to a query I made elsewhere who have quoted part no 179424 at twice the price you mention. I presume this is something completely different, as I can’t see it anywhere on the BSH list, and what you describe sounds just what I need!

    Thanks again, Dick.

The power is still switched on.
Initialy the machine would not switch off at the button, so isolated power now once power reinstated it will not switch on ❗

Re: Hotpoint BD52 Built-in double oven

Thanks for swift response and suggestion. I use this type of scraper on our ceramic hob. I was reluctant to attack this inner glass surface of the oven door “coated with a heat reflective layer” with a scraper until I understood what the coating was. The instruction manual that came with the oven is suitably vague on how to clean the surface but does state: “Do not use scouring pads or abrasive powder, which will scratch the glass”. This sort of suggests that it will scratch easily? All those in favor of me attacking it with a scraper, raise your right hand! 😉

    Re: Gas Tumble Dryers

I bought my White Knight gas dryer over 10 years ago. Very low running costs and very little trouble. All I’ve needed to replace in that time are some heat sensors and the fluff filter (all from Crosslee), although it seems these days the fan isn’t blowing as hard as it used to. Fascia/switches are a bit loose on mine so the unit tends to ‘buzz’ when in use. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT to keep the filter clear as the airflow is neccessary to keep the flame area cooled.

thanks for the advice re diplomat E2 problem. We have not been able to solve the problem so we are waiting for a repair man to come out.
Do have another mystery though re the Diplomat. In the display window there is a symbol that is not listed in the handbook.
There are three vertical squiggly lines with a cross through. Any ideas what this indicates?

    Re: Whirlpool AWM 6111 – 6k

Ok, I have found out more info about this fault – it only seems to happen on a certain wash cycle – Synthectics 40 & 60 degree settings. All other programs seem fine.

Any ideas? My postcode is SO40 3NR – if there is anyone near by who thinks its worth repairing please leave me some contact details.

    Regards

    Paul.
