KeymasterRe: Advisory Council
hi sean,
Do you want UKW to write your job description or do you want to write it yourselves.
Ken, Dave and I can and will write it for you, if thats your decision. I think you should decide. If we write it, it will be done within 48 hours of you asking. Yoy can then tweak it as you see fit for approval by the six of us.

KeymasterRe: temperature problems on Fridgemaster MTRL130
This could be the stat.
The stats do fail in this manor, requiring around +5 to turn back on.
Worth a try i reckon.
Kevin.
PS any strange “clicking noise” from the back of the appliance?

KeymasterRe: Tricity Sovereign 4638 cooker
I have had a Tricity Sovereign 4638 for some years. The grill and now lately the oven is cutting off once it senses it it too hot leaving food uncooked. This also prevents using them until they cool down. Also it has developed a humming noise when left switched on and the hobs are not in use. Any ideas on what could be causing these problems? Can I get them repaired or is it time for a new cooker?

KeymasterRe: fitting of thermostat beko fridge/freezer
You should be able to work out which is which by tracing the origin of the cables at the compressor terminal block and doing continuity tests on each cable in turn.
Although most of us on this site know the answer, we can’t tell you in case you do it wrong. In law you could hold us responsible, and as you state there are three colours you have already made an error by omitting/dismissing the earth cable, the most important of the 4 wires present.

This is a great example of why UKW exists…..
There’s advice and rubbish, I will let the reader decide.

KeymasterRe: “New” Coverplan
Who mentioned CDSL……Rudi in the 1st post.
As this concerns the manufacturers who sell through DSG group I reckon those concrned have had many a disscussion, not us though, as it does not have anything to do with us at that level.
The level we enter is through the contract with a WP, none of mine have changed, therefore no one needs to say much. No need to consult no need to alter.
I don’t think 2 day service level is being foisted upon “service agents” at all, rather they are being asked to adhere to contracts already signed, as are manufacturer own service. On this site a few manufacturers have been exposed with shocking Speed of Service to the detriment of the public, this is a new initiative to do something about it for part of the industry. As a bonus independents might get some work from it.
We should support new ideas and learn from them, not through ignorance pull them apart without all the facts on the table.

KeymasterRe: Scandinova frost free freezer leaking from back to floor
This is a simple problem and you don’t need to worry as Kevin mentioned. The copper pipe you have mentioned is the one freezing the freezer inside. This pipe will get very cold when the compressor start. You will see a copper cable solder to this copper pipe to warm the pipe to avoid getting frozen. Check this cable, I believe this soldering must have come off. If it is the case don’t bother to solder it again but use another copper wire to attach along the copper pipe this will solve the problem.

KeymasterThanks penguin 45
I tried what you said but nothing works.
When I press start it pumps out and then just stalls
I put a multimeter on all the wires going into the main module.
I only got a power reading on two areas. One from the main active power coming in and the other is the one that runs back to the pump. All the other wires read zero or four volts.
Very confusing. I pulled off both sides of pump and flushed it, checking for blockages. I had a look at tilt switch and checked main motor was not siezed. I would have thought that when it moved through its cycle that if their was a blockage at any point then I would still get a power reading at the module as it sends a signal to that area.
What do you think?
Oh by the way my email address is wmpat@dodo.com.au
Thanks

KeymasterRe: “New” Coverplan
Hi Dave,
read my post, theres nothing new in 2 day service, whats new is the manufacturer service has to do it as well, we have been doing it for years.
Nothing in my contract with CDSL has changed because of this “new coverplan”, nothing at all.Kevin

KeymasterRe: “New” Coverplan
Quite frankly..I’m puzzled by the two above posts.
I can’t see where you are coming from with your argument/debate. I do around 320 jobs a month for CDSL and therefore indirectly I am supporting Coverplan, I hope both Coverplan and CDSL continue to make profit.
All companies including me are trying to profit from this venture, unlike many a manufacturer franchise around at the moment.
Sorry guys, this is good work, the new changes are designed to improve service levels to the customer, to increase take up of insurance, that I need to feed my business, and if we all profit it gets my support.
You are so out of touch with the expected level of service required and the ease of communication lines to help you to achieve service level when the unexpected happens……for once we have a work provider working with us, you should sign up and try the difference rather than criticise from the past.

KeymasterRe: Miele T5206 Tumble Dryer heater contactor
Hi
Cannot confirm price as not in office, but sounds about right. Considering its an £1,900 appliance, the priceof part sounds reasonable to me. If you use any authorised Miele agent Im sure the price would be the same as parts are sourced directly from Miele.Greg
