KeymasterRe: Necht integrated freezer
Is it possible to get replacements or is there a better alternative?
I don’t want the other hinge to break on the freezer, especially this time of year!

Dave although these hinges look the part they are monkey metal at best.
The Servis style hinge does not fit and the model number of the fridge is N2(thats it) Freezer hinge is the same one …reckon the chinese strike again 🙂
Can’t get part numbers out of necht, sorry.
If you can open your picture I can say yes or no…no probs.Kevin

That looks like it. I could say 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} if it was a picture of the open hinge, but it looks like a match.
It’s right handed. I presume that means the handle is on the left of the door!
thanks

the obvious is the element, are you able to measure its resistance and insulation values?
Kevin
Wired the element direct to the mains and it works fine. Resistance showed 25ohms which I guess is about right. No shorts showing.
Owner said she saw element glowing red hot shortly before it went wrong. The thermostat is an automatic reset type. Thermostat operates in hot water and appears to switch across although without a wiring diagram I am unsure if it is switching correctly. When cold two terminals on one side are connected, when hot the opposite terminals are then connected and the original two break contact. Does anyone know if this is operating correctly?

I have the same problem. I have located the thermostat but cannot find any reset switch on or around it. Any more suggestions? I have checked the element and thats fine and traced all wires through door for any breaks.

KeymasterRe: brandt
Got the call today, very pleasant chat with therese.
She has been hard at work and reports that she sent all of my nine queries to brandt and has a reply to all of them.
I will receive much more technical help from now, they will make themselves more available, I will receive tech bullitins , all spares will be accepted as returns with no postage charges, any calls cocked up by them which I attend will be paid to me.
I have also the option of Therese personally actioning any problem I may encounter. On top of this she tells me there is a firm contract between themselves and Brandt and no review of the contract is possible until april 2005. She is committed to the UKW cause of getting to £40.00 a call minimum and D&G are wanting to get there as soon as they can. I have briefed her on the fact several manufacturers are already there.
So I have withdrawn my refusal to do the brandt work whilst I give Therese time to improve the enviroment we work in. I do expect her to come through and will monitor the situation with Brandt carefully, I will expect more from D&G in the next 4 months. However I must stress that we get an 80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} uptake of the private calls passed by Brandt at my labour rate of £80.00 plus vat, this did have a deciding factor in my decision today. It makes it easier to live with whilst I see some improvement.

KeymasterRe: Ford Connect Premature Tyre Wear
HI,
We got 15500 out of the fronts on our connect, the driver is steady and looks after his van. On the other hand my mercedes Vito has now done 26500 and there plenty left in the michelins that it came with. I reckon the ford rubber was cheap in the first place, have replaced the connect fronts with michelins and they are wearing ok.

KeymasterBosch Fridge Freezer Problem
After 3 days trial we think it has a fault. Still bubbling away. Thermometer reading in fridge says 6 degrees whatever you set it to on the panel (currently supposed to be 2 degrees) and food not feeling that cold. Probably going to look at Miele or Liebherr. Any views on going for frost free types? Have heard that they can be noisy – presumably a fan noise? How often is this likely to come on. Kitchen would be warm (20 degrees or so). Any advice gratefully received!!

KeymasterRe: SMEG Repairs
As a repairer who is not an agent of Servevast I have found them to be poor, unreliable and not helpful for several years now. They obviously support their network better than independents. I also would never recommend Smeg appliances because of the crap service we get from the service back up.
As independents we have to source spares from the many varients of manufacturers who do the smeg appliance in disguise, how things have changed from the days of WAM, when the same guys who now run Smeg service were part of that set up.

KeymasterRe: brandt
since Ken emailed his spread sheet I’ve analised November only..time is the reason why its November only.
21 jobs in total…….invoiced.
14 x first time fixes
6 x 2 visit fixed
1 x 3 visit fixedHowever 2 of the 1st time fixes are by default…appliances exchanged and we have £200.00 worth of stock with no set returns policy in place.
so 21 x £37.14 divided by 29 = £26.89 a visit…..I am covering my operating costs, but not when you deduct the spares issues.
I am not prepared to continue funding Brandt.
Full stop.
