KeymasterRe: Diplomat ADP8322 Problem
This is a Whirlpool appliance. On any fault it will default to the rinse cycle, but, it will be accompanied by the start light flashing. If you’re not getting any flashes then it’s a very strange fault indeed and it would point to a module fault. However, as K says, it’s a very expensive part just to “try” and fix the machine. The best option is to call in an engineer.

KeymasterRe: Brandt Review
hi Alex,
For us, its calls like this,
Got a job where brandt have supplied spares direct to customer…steam oven 2 x hinges to replace. No probs I hear you all sceam.Wrong.
Brandt have supplied two left hand hinges (the broken one …you guessed it is a right hand) No probs …close job for payment of our call and send customer back to brandt.
Gets another call to fit hinge…..D&G won’t issue another authorisation, we have to do it as recall.
We go and sort out customer, who now has 5 left hand hinges and 2 right hand hinges in a bag (brandt overkill), so fitted and working with a spare set for her if they break again.
So 2 visits £37.14 as payment and Brandt to blame and D&G no help. I’m not sure who does what at Brandt but from my perspective they are poor at everything and crap at the rest.Sod em
Kevin
PS…And if D&G want to place their work elsewhere, so be it.
PPS..we got one of those dishwashers as well

KeymasterRe: Brandt Review
I didn’t get a phone call from Brandt to say they have exchanged an appliance we finally received all the parts for. Again.
Sorry D&G but this crap has got to go.
So, do I give Brandt 1 days notice(sound familiar) or do I play it straight and chat to D&G and ask nicely that they ditch Brandt. They will have to stick with Brandt and ditch me no doubt.
So its people power time, the best way to bring a problem to the table is to ask their customers for help.
So from Monday 13th December I’m offering Brandt customers through D&G contract, next year (January 2005), whilst not refusing to do the work, I’m fed up with the crap and enough is enough.

KeymasterRe: Scandinova fridge help
The most common problem is thethermostat if its just the fridge not working,it will require the extra long capillary though.iIf its a drost free model then it may well be that the door hasnt been fully shut at some point in the past week or so,if it is frost free try to emty the appliance ond turn it off for 24hrs with the freezer door open and then restart it and see if it works ok.

KeymasterRe: diplomat 8132 – arms not spinning
Thanks Dave – checked the arms but there’s no blockages.
Also called the guy you linked to but he doesn’t do diplomat dishwashers. He suggested that I call out an MFI engineer, but MFI’s phone lines aren’t exactly well manned, and I’ve had trouble getting through. Are there any other options open to me?

KeymasterRe: DASA!
Please explain WHY I should back off……and leave the press officer to make remarks in private about me on the Dasa website.
I’m not persecuting Dasa. They do that themselves everytime they allow one of their own to bring personal remarks into a debate/reply.
If people can’t leave the personal slagging out of it and I have asked Tinhips why he did it and he refused to answer, then so be it. I’m not going down to that level but I reserve the right to say what I want in open forum.

Dave,
I have exactly the same problem! Look forward to your engineers findings being posted. Many Thanks,

KeymasterRe: White Knight Tumble Dryer
Drawing a wiring diagram (why don’t they stick one inside?) and retesting isolated the timer as the problem. Dismantling the timer revealed intermitent connections which I think confused the previous testing, a quick tweak on the springs to increase the pressure, and it’s working again.
Thanks for you help guys, it was actually Martin’s last post that made me look again, you’ve saved me £200, a fitting nightmare, and the lady of the house is happy again.

KeymasterRe: bosch sgs5312 poor wash pressure
Learned Gentlrman, Many thanks for your analysis.
The Insufficient water theory was put to the test by adding a 4 pints. Lo and behold! the upper whirling arm now spins! ( observed with door open) and resulted in a good wash.
No more tabs will be used thank you.
I noticed a distillery of plastic pipes/chambers when i earlier had the machine’s right side off. They are easily detachable from the feeding pipes at the base. There was observeable unpure water there; though i thought the stuff was perhaps a life long “salt” permanently required there.
With your permission I’d like to go back in there and flush that plastic pipery.
I am an Electonics Tech/Engineer.where Can i send the beverage of your choice? Cheers again!

KeymasterRe: Flooding Haier Made Dishwashers
From the sound of it the sooner we start collating the faults with these appliances, the sooner we will be better armed.
As Ken says if we are repairing these( and the incoming carlton/kenwood appliances are hairer ) and expected to warrenty our work its in our own interest to work together.
Dishwasher: full size and slimline. STOPPING MID CYCLE
So the overheat stat is a manual reset..set at 78degrees. It does trip if the customer inturupts the heat cycle to add an item, or to remove an item on drying.
Located at the back, centrally, directly under the heater. I have already been told that fitting an auto reset will alter the technical spec on the appliance(unofficially of course). Waiting for a chance to put it officially.Dishwasher: LEAKING
The inlet hose seal is ropey at best, leaks even when tight.Built in fridge(undercounter) DOOR CLOSING
Hinges made of monkey metal and can fail within a month.Anyone got more?
