KeymasterRe: Smeg washer dryer conversions
Since then Chris the extraction rate alters if the clothes are warmed during final rinse by the addition of hot water to that final fill.
I was always told 830 rpm was the greatest water loss point, after that the quantity of remaining water lessons at each stage ie 1000, 1100 meaning super fast speeds are not required for good water extraction, as the amount left is minimal. So a decent 1000 spin appliance is enough.
Worth noting that the bearings in an 800 spin are the same in the 1500 spin as we can all testify to the early failure rate of bearings. Though how much of this is down to the water seal failure?
On your percentages Chris, I assume that is the percentage removed from the start of the spin cycle, meaning an extra 4{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} for 400 rpm faster. Wonder what this translates to in terms of quantity(fluid ounces please..none of this litre crap).

KeymasterRe: Blomberg 1501AAA Spin failure
Hi Penguin & all the crew
The final saga of the spin failure.
I took the board back to QER and the manager himself checked it against a spare (repaired one they had with the same tracks blown) & there was a fault across the timer contacts which they couldn’t fix so he sent it away to a specialist firm they have.
It has just come back and I have installed it in the machine & all is now working correctly.
Thanks very much for your expertise on tracing the fault (especially Penguin) & for putting me in touch with Dave for the door lock & QER.
I don’t know exactly what the faults on the board were (except for blown tracks) as he wouldn’t say.
Once again thanks very much for all your efforts & time I did mention UKW a few times to them as the source of my information. Thanks

KeymasterRe: Homark Fan element
Well you have to bear in mind I was in a hurry to get the thing working, and who are EAC? I am not in the trade, just a normal punter who’s oven element broke down. Give me the relevant info, and I will file it away for future reference.

KeymasterHi Penguin – I’m thinking of changing my name – to Hairy Putter, but since I know little of golf, I leave such option open.

KeymasterRe: Do white goods manufacturers keep stock?
Whirlpool used to use Paddock Wood as their incoming appliance depot. Unloaded straight from the train into the warehouse. I seem to remember they could have 90,000 appliances stored in there.
However when we were trying to buy one through their Product exchange….they were constantly out of stock.
Don’t know about the distribution of the appliances though.

KeymasterRe: brandt
I have had a call from Therese at D&G whilst out this afternoon wanting to discuss my email. The email withdraws my labour from Brandt on the 13th december for 9 problems I have listed for her to sort out.
Although I could have replied this afternoon I decided to wait until tomorrow to return her call. Glad I did Alex, thanks for the info contained in your post. Conspiracy…….news to me 🙂
I have offered to resume Brandt work if all the problems are addressed which keeps my line slightly different to Alexs and Kens, I have made no issue out of money other than the fact it does not pay to do the work.
This keeps you upto date just in case they do a phone around.
Will post after my chat with the lady.

Dave
Thanks. Postcode KT20 (Reigate and Banstead).Any volunteers? (I can bring it to the repairer – it is currently in the garage while a kitchen refit goes on anyway – and it is easily transported)

KeymasterRe: Whirlpool Dryer AWZ 8812
Hi all,
Just wanted to say a big thank you to all of you that took the time to
help me with my dryer. It seems that the 8812 is not a very popular
model. Couldn’t find any local repair places that know this model. So after two weeks of non-drying dryer I gave up and bought a
replacment. Hay Ho.Thanks for trying,

Dave & Penguin
Thanks for your help. I found a local supplier (4 miles away from me) that had the element in stock, needless to say I bought it, fitted it tonight and we are all ok. the oven is working just as it used to. Cost me £26.50, a bargain.Cheers
