Re: Strange noises from washing machine?

Thank you Martin – bad news although from the noise I did think as much

Its a Hoover SE220. If this is still an available model I would gladly buy another as its been a little belter for £250

I am a bit wary of repair men – usually one thing leads to another and before you know it you might as well have bought a new machine anyway after shelling out call out, labour, parts, cups of tea, etc etc etc

Re: bosch sgs5312 poor wash pressure

I called the engineer today. He confirmed a partial blockage and recomended a special dishwasher cleaner tablet that bursts open when hot!
However i rekon its this cleaner, unless its sulphuric acid is not going to shift the ?item?.

He also said we should use rinse aid and Sun tablet/powder rather than lidl W5 tabs. ??

The whirling water pressure is fine for one second after power is interupted by the on/off switch. This looks like a healty impellor. This leads me to think that the blockage falls away momentarly when the power is off.
Or could it be the control Capacitor?.

    I live in Sligo

Re: Strange noises from washing machine?

The noise only seems to come on when the drum is on fast spin – rotating it by hand seems ok and its ok on the slower spin speeds. It also seems to be vibrating more than it should when on fast spin

I didn’t look round the front, not another one!

The element was closed circuit – so that’s OK?

    Re: DASA!

You are all jumping the gun….

This site will not become the successor to Dasa. UKW is what it is and has to stay that way.

And more importantly Dasa has not died or gone, please do not put us in the frame as its replacement.

However you guys on this forum are more than capable of re inventing Dasa if you wish.

gvf wrote:I have just moved house and there is a Maxol Majestic Duo (Double oven) and Maxol Mistral hob unit installed. I would like to renew/replace the Oven and Hob taps/knobs which are made of the brown urea safety push/turn type.

The double oven/hob unit is I think a number of years old.

Can anyone suggest where I might be able to obtain these ❓ .

    Many thanks,

I’m looking for some spares for the Maxol Majoestic Duo since the door catch on mine has broken – still got the beast – I’ll collect? glennm@upgrade.co.uk

    Hi again.

Tested the Thermostat, there seem to be two of them? Both are closed circuit. I don’t know if this is good or bad.

    What next? Help.

    Thanks for feedback so far. In reply;

a). no the door hasn’t been left ajar, it’s definitely a fault.

b). my post code – CV9 (Sheepy Magna, Atherstone, Warwickshire). It seemed only a 5 minute job when the engineer fitted the last replacement PCB, but then it was nearly 4 years ago!

Re: Hoover Performa 1100 – fill problems – easy repair?

Penguin 45, thank you for replying! The model number of the machine is AC110, apologies for not including that in my post. Because the clothes are just damp during wash and rinses, they don’t smell fresh afterwards and also feel soapy. That’s why I add more water myself, just enough to bring the level to the lower part of the glass. I’ts a nuisance to have to do that all the time. I wondered if there was a water level sensor in the machine which may be faulty.
Many thanks again, I appreciate your time.

    Re: R U Ready

    WHOA!!!!!!!!

Some of you are missing the point of this and its very simple…….We don’t want to promote Mr Dixons…we want our own. Mr Dixons publication may well be good and useful, but its not ours, we can’t sell it (although we might receive a commision from amazon) and make a profit.

One of Dasas undoings is the inability of themselves to find something they could sell. They tried for years to come up with a product, Chris Hayter asked me loads of times to “write” up repairs for him (not for Dasas use but Easel his own company) because he could SEE.

Stop bleating on about Dixon……he has no competition but we have the knowledge, we have the market place, the vehicle and a ready made customer base in our own forums.

We can if we can SEE beyond the end of our noses produce our own and promote ourselves. If you want an answer to where UKW is heading in the future ….well this is one direction, one that over time will produce revenue for the site and shareholders, produce credability to all who involve themselves that we are taking control and we can help the industry at the grass root..ie training.

Or do you want this challenge brought to fruition by outsiders to UKW.

I have no axe to grind here with other publications, consumers are better informed for having choice, easy isn’t it.
