KeymasterRe: Penguin got his…
P45’s vision is better.
No matter which Trade association you look at, it does things for its members, many of them expand the ideas into health and sickness, and pensions and welfare, of creating good practice and working enviroments. These are achieved by solid and good management, working to business plans and models which are debated and formulated by professionals. Whilst all council members are freely giving their time and efforts (some more than others) none of you have the time or experience to run Dasa as you wish it to be.
I’ll look forward to Dasa’s business plan being published in Orbit along with its first true professional full time leader. Then as a non member I can perhaps see if there is something in this Dasa thing.

KeymasterRe: Oi, stop it!
Fraid Oldtog moves things to a personnel level with his post, which is not acceptable at all.

KeymasterRe: rumours
I am amazed however that so few words in a forum called the rumour mill can have such effect……why is that?
I don’t have to say much to have you jumping do I?
Have a nice weekend Oldtog

KeymasterRe: URGENTLY need to purchase a Blomberg Oven handle
Dave,
Black is superb! I’d like to order one. Don’t want to touch Comet as they quoted us £60 call out fee before they would even bring us the part.
£27 is fine – how do I order off you? Please let me know.
Ben McKee.

KeymasterHi
I have the same problem – I cannot see the forums when logged in as me (Igloo_Vindaloo) – so I’m posting this as a guest with a similar name.
It worked fine until I changed the email address registered to my account. (I usually have to use a dumb email account to register for these forums, as the confirmation emails usually get filtered as spam before I receive them.)
Cheers

KeymasterHi
I got the repair kit from Bosch/Seimens this week. Very small kit, but it did come with full instructions. All it does is by-pass the failed sensor because it is difficult to replace. Apparently there are 2 sensors – now the control board just relies on one of them.
So, thanks for your help peeps

Agreed.
However like you, I reserve the right of reply.

KeymasterRe: rumours
I’ve now slept on this and I have to say the power of UKW is brought home to me with the rumor I posted.
Just a few words and I get a phone call from the Dasa chairman wanting to know who gave me the info and Phil Dill posting rubbish he knows is not true. Someone I spoke to yesterday wonders if Phil has actually read the Dasa website, hence a reference to a post from Neil!
It speaks volumes for the rumour I heard, if I have set Dasa back years….with so few words! That’ll be the iron age I presume. So there is as they say “no smoke without fire” and the response from a council member and the Chairman speak volumes.

KeymasterRe: Whirlpool Get It Right!
This is only on in guarantee calls though Ken……..and on the face of it, as you write it, its fine.
What you don’t know is that all in guarantee calls are subject to 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} reduction also. If you do 400 in guarantee calls in a month Whirlpool only pay the agent for 360. The forty is deducted to fund the call avoidance allowance. Hence its upto the Service partner to make sure he gets the 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} call avoidance back.
Its a totally NAFF way of paying for Service and one that is abused by some to ensure they get back the 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} reduction.
Hence when an engineer goes into a new build he collects model, serial number and DOP of all whirlpool product, to use for call avoidance purposes.
Its crap when an agent has to look for alternatives to the system.
Because of better installation, better instructions and communications its getting harder to really call avoid.
Not such a good idea in practice when tied to the funding method enployed.

KeymasterRe: rumours
What a shame you are so rude Phil.
Its a rumour going round and you could do a lot to explain it better than being offensive.
There again you could actually explain it to Dasa members.
Of course you could print on these pages the posts by those members who have lodge their objections…..lets start with neils!
Or is it still a load of bollocks?
If you want to be rude…fine carry on as you are…..
If you want to tell the truth….start now.

KeymasterRe: yesterday I lost £37.50
Thanks for the detailed breakdown Martin, you may well be close with the costs.
However whilst these out calls are a pain…..it was a good day to get one in so far as I completed 9 @ £37.50 out of 12. As Ken says 1st time fix is the key and it helps to accept that WP’s force us to accept these costs for their customers being out.
As I can’t see this situation changing…..I’ll concentrate on the 1st time fix rate and trying to up the completed call rate to £40.00.
Oh and by the way, my staff have told the customer we won’t return and he can complain all he likes to the insurance people.
