It was a initial suggestion from myself Mark and run past Kevin. A few years ago a number of us clubbed together and placed an advert in a national paper. We thought we would try something different and we got a reasonable response at a fraction of the cost it would normally cost.

This case was a suggestion that once again we clubbed together in the interest of all. As we were all seeing CDSL the idea was mooted.

Opinions would be welcome on friday if people are interested it can be done through CDSL , through UKW or on our own, its upto us all

    Re: Ranco freezer thermostat

    hi,
if your freezer is completely dead it MAY need the stat, however a 97 freezer not cooling correctly is more likely to be a system…and will almost certainly be R134a gas, is the compressor (the motor) warm/hot to touch and is it running? If so might not need the stat

    Re: Hotpoint Advertise Franchises!

The rate for the job is never going to industry leading…..We are taking about Merloni here. However a more important point is that if you guys can do this work and make a decent profit…then you should. However assuming you all have 20 slots available and have no ambition to fill those with top paying work ..its a decent marriage. In reality Merloni only has to make you a better offer than your worst contract for you to get mercenary and start dropping of the lowest paid. There are several companies not paying a realistic rate and these may well become the casualties in all of this. Tough.
If you can improve your lot and up your mean average across your business then GOOD LUCK to you.

However having done manufacturer service in the past (800 jobs a month) you should read any contract carefully and definately have it professionally looked at. It may just save you £££ in the long term.
You could group together to share the cost of the legal bit?

    Re: Merloni

    ok, here goes.

I have replied to and received a reply back from Merloni. Like some of you I await an area Manager. No probs…..

However I want to make it very clear to you within this forum that I have absolutely no intention of working for anyone for less than £37.00 a call.
I can tell you that RF has been chatting to these people and they dont want to pay the price….. I know they have approached another network(who pay £33.00 to their agents) and yet they still approach us privately.

That means Merloni have been quoted at least £37.50 plus admin fee and £33.00 plus admin fee from two companies. Now if you consider those figures for a mo, you can conclude you may easily sell yourself short if you dont raise the anti and your expectations. Not that you have to pay any attention to me but………these opportunities come along infrequently and we should grab every chance to raise the payment per job. Each time we win one we set a precedent for others to follow, its your wallet…think about it?

oh, dont expect to much insurance work from this liason…a little bird I know has it sown up.

    It sound’s like it, yes.

If you let us know your postcode someone here may be able to assist, or check in the directories.

    Dave.

Cheers Dave – I called the shop where I brought it and it seems that this is covered under the extended warranty that I didn’t know I had. I don’t remember buying it, I can’t see it on the receipt, but I’m not going to argue with them. An engineer is coming tomorrow. I’ll keep you posted as to the solution. 😀

    Re: Dishwasher nightmare….Please help.

    hi,
an NTC failure is usually immediate, not 1/2 way through a cycle, there are also two varients depending on 85 number. Not easy this one and one where a SAM module can identify the last fault stored in the PCB. The PCB once reset may function but a base full of water makes me steer to the incoming water metering device. It (the PCB) electronically counts magnetic pulses from the filling chamber and have caused problems even when brand new.

Best bet, an 85 number and I can confirm whats fitted and my advice would probably be’ its not a diy repair.

If a label is not visible in the frame surrounding the main oven door, then the label is 3″ back from the front edge of the top. It means sliding the appliance forward until you can see it, three letters and 3 digits are common.

Any decent electrician will do it for you if your struggling to find a repairer and no doubt we can source (we is you Dave 8) ) the element with the model number

    Re: CDSL Engineer Database

This is suppose to be a simple way of national advertising. The results from the advert, if any, in my area would come to me. I will not receive the info about an applicant off area, that seems fine to me. However I would like to know what they do with an applicant who applies where the CDSL agent declines to join the cost of the advert?

I may have to ask this one at the UKW meeting.

Re: Indesit Evolution WE13 fault code F09

    Hi Dave ,

Thanks for the resetting instructions……unfortunately though, there are no
Black dots on the dial, only 11 programme settings and the usual spin and rinse settings!!……so wherever you set the dial, it is on one of these programmes! – When I turn the power on the whole LCD display comes on
with all the symbols showing but nothing is flashing, about 5 seconds later
the F-09 fault code comes up! – If I then press the start/reset button the
machine starts but only seems to perform programme 9. Have you got any ideas or should I just bin it and go and buy another machine and hope it lasts longer than the 17 months that this one has!!!

    Re: Dishwasher nightmare….Please help.

Without trying to answer my own question…..I noticed on another thread, that a similar problem was diagnosed as a NTC which I assume stands for ~~~~~~~~ Temperature controller (what does the N stand for)…..
Are these simple to replace?. I don’t mind getting my hands dirty 😉

    Cheers.

    Re: Dishwasher nightmare….Please help.

    Hi All,

OK, thanks for the advice….I now have the model number…It’s an ADP8322

Last night, I tried running it again ona a different setting….Same thing happened…..It started beeping half way through the cycle, I pressed the start button which stopped the beeping and it carried on, but when it had finished, it stopped on the rinse symbol(normally goes back to the program selection symbol), and all the dishes were wet.

Any help / advice very much appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Paul.
