What have we here???? The old Hoover Agitator Bearing Grease Gun….well, well well !

    Takes you back eh?

    Martin

I’ve got one of those grease guns still in my toolbox. A tidy way of keeping grease, the only touble is now, I don’t use this tool box any more. The engineers keep teasing me that spanners have gone metric. What has happened to Whitworth I want to know.

1961 the old 3224 & updated in 1964 by the 3226. Replaced by the 3208 3221 clutch driven motor range in 1968. I now feel disheartened I know this. I still have a tub of Alvania Grease. I threw out all my old blue manuals when I moved house in 1997. Oh god it is all coming back, pulsator seals, concentric valve company, black cold fill keyplates, the leaking top frame on the 3314L T/Tubs. I wish I had the part numbers for the Hoover special tools, would run them past the Electrue programme for a laugh.

I don’t know, nostalgia is not what it used to be.

I’m sorry this is all Wurzelise to me.

Do I read this right? you are paying someone else for the privilege of having this work??

Surely I’ve got this wrong somewhere?

Can you tell us like it is? as I’m not getting my head round this one at all.

    Here’s the rub.

The AUDI T.T. is actually made in Hungary.

That is like an AEG cooker being made in Spennymoor.

I heard something late this afternoon and it involves a party that has featured heavily in this medium.

I’m keeping out of this one, but can’t say I’m surprised.

If the heater is the “in line” type, look at the toc on the barrel. They tend to be sensitive due to connection inside breaking down. Caused by blocked filters which make the thing overwork.

Complete heater assy. is the fix.

    Re: MFI payments

I really have time for MFI and have no cause to complain regards accounting payments etc.

I’m looking for an angle on the A.I.S. thing though as it isn’t easy on the admin front splitting the same work between several. No reflection on AIS as they are a pleasant bunch.

Have spoken to Jan at AIS today and between us we will sort it.

The good thing here is, both parties are good to deal with and are realistic.

It seems you are missing the Woodruff Key. It is a crescent looking thing that sits in a groove in the shaft.

Typically Crosslee haven’t listed it on their tech info. The only way to get one is phone them at their factory.

    Re: MFI payments

    No problem here either.

Except where MFI calls are passed to us Via Anglo Iberian, they (A.I.S.) only pay us £32 per call and I feel that is undervalued. Graham at A.I.S. is happy for us to send direct ti M.F.I. and claim the proper amount, however M.F.I. keep rejecting as the call was passed to A.I.S. not us.

What I can’t get through to M.F.I. is the fact that as we get the call, we are going to bill them, and no doubt our £40 is less than whatever A.I.S. are charging.

I may end up having to back to A.I.S. and ask for the M.F.I. rate @ £40.

    Anyone else finding this?

I Will keep you all updated as to what develops.

Or she makes the thing boiling hot and you take the skin off the roof of your mouth trying to drink it. You let it cool to a paletable temperature, and as you are ready to drink it she says, ” Oh that must be cold by now”! and gives it 2 minutes in the microwave before you get chance to reply.

What about when you are in a hurry and a little child totters down the path in front of you when rushing out to the van to get a part. Then said child waits at the gate and totters back up the path in front of you when youve’ got the part.

Yes I have to agree regards their customer service. I can’t say the same regards the way they treat repairers though.

We had a situation where they rubbished our company, despite the fact we were the approved repairers via ISDA. We have never even had an apology from them.

    Re: Most ridiculous part price

Servis Cooker. Model TG600I Main oven element part number 524011900. From Electrue cost to US is £132.43. I shudder to think regards the actual retail price.

This was for a D&G call, needless to say D&G not going ahead. The operative at D&G Bedworth told me that lately all Servis parts seem to be gold plated.

Re: Indesit W143 Drum Bearing Change

All this takes me back to the days when we were Merloni agents. Bearing failures where the inner race was jammed in the tub & impossible to remove. The fix was to renew the back half. That was a laugh as the tub would expand, and there was no way you could renew without the whole tub being changed.

Merloni used to tel us we were the only ones who used to find this a problem. Despite having kept some Merloni stock, we turn away all their work now. Can’t be bothered with it.

That is what I was getting at. I assume everybody else in the trade has exhausted the supply.

Do they give them out free to agents carrying out the C/Plan contract I wonder?
