I couldn’t help noticing, even that thing was Italian.

ParticipantRe: I truly despair…
DASA Website, lack of improvement due to Chris’s illness. That tells me he is trying to control the whole show. Having a dog and barking himself.
No wonder he had a bloody stroke. The silly old bugger will kill himself as he is a control freak, and must run the whole operation himself. When that happens what will happen to DASA? Is there a contingency plan to allow for this? Answers please, if poss.
The minutes as e-mailed regards tha last meeting were rather contained shall I say, in particular where any constructive crticism was levied.
The date for the forthcoming Council Meeting was kept back I fancy, maybe they don’t like some of the new blood who are not so reticent at these meetings, therefore letting the outside world know at the 11th hour.
Only an opinion mind.

ParticipantIn the top 10 eh!
These days you are hard pushed to find 10 manufacturers. Most are amalgamated under larger Multi Nationals.
Take out of those that carry out service direct, doesn’t leave many who use agents. I can think of 3; (excluding any that operate via a third party i.e. Independent Service & Anglo Iberian).
I suspect this is a carrot & stick scenario.

Good god, there is a name from the past, John Bloom you are showing your age Martin.
I remember his adverts in the early 60’s twin tub W/Machine for 19 guineas plus a free fur coat. He had the product made for him by Tallent engineering, the old Rolls Rapide and Roll Concorde. Wasn’t a bad machine actually.
Tallent carried it on with the Electra Badge and made a model for Colston. There was another character, (Mr Colston) used to work for Hoover.
Why Jeremy Clarkson in this though?

ParticipantRe: Avatar Images
Trust Ken to rise to the challenge. Within 10 minutes of this, he comes up with a classic.
I did expect the image to show a red beard, tartan tam-o-shanter and a claymore in his hand. Never mind close enough.
Can we extend this to other users, subject names or viewers of this medium? I can think of some but may have a job to find them on my p.c.
I have been considering some options, but may upset some people. The possibilities are endless.

What about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.

ParticipantRe: DASA!
I don’t usually agree with Bonzaco, but he is right, we must look unified. Mind you I’m rattling cages. So I will keep my head down on this one for now.
We need to keep Chris as a Consultant, make it look like a promotion or as an accolade. We just need to sell him the idea.

ParticipantRe: ZAN D/W not filling
I have p.m’d Tom.
The best fix is a new IWMS, (Matrix) There is a valve kit and pressure switch mod kit as well, but the IWMS will still need doing. Valve kits depend on how many valves are on the IWMS.
Any NESN agents should be able to ask Stoke for the details on the valve kits. Best of luck on that one.

ParticipantRe: Female logic???
An international business man found a magic lamp. He rubbed it & out popped a genie.
What is your wish? anything & I will grant it.
Well says the businessman, I have to travel on a regular basis to New York, the thing is I can’t stand flying. Ship is no good either, I get sick. So therefore, can you build me a bridge that will cross the Atlantic, that way I could drive over.
The Genie says that is unrealistic, think of the environmental effects, the logistics of it all and what is the point of all that for one person. Can I ask you to consider another wish?
O.K. said the businessman, try this one. Can you tell me what makes a woman’s mind work?
Alright says the genie, this bridge, do you want 2 lanes or 4?

ParticipantRe: Hoover tumble drier timer
Reading the above sent me down memory lane from my Candy Gias days. Oh nothing has changed. Yet in the Hoover days, the support was A1.
Fridge doors used to be the best one, halfway through production they reversed the fridge from under the freezer to above on most of their popular machines, yet kept the same model numbers.
Timer changes were another favorite, I’m glad I’m away from them now.

ParticipantRe: Tis The Season To Be Jolly
They are doing my head in.
They leave it to the last minute every year.
“Oh, what do you mean you have to order a bit & it may not come in time for Xmas? it has been like it a month”.
“My hob, 2 plates are not working”.
“Did they both fail at the same time madam”?
“No one went back in the Summer, the other one went about 3 weeks ago.”Engineer calls to look at D/Washer, not draining, customer says, “Oh did you bring any wheels for the baskets side runners, I need them for Xmas”.
Engineer calls to look at Freezer, customer says, “While you are here can you look at my gas cooker, the fan has been noisy for a while”? Needless to say, the fridge engineer specialises in refrigeration only.
Customers booking 3 faulty appliances at the same time, had 2 of those today.
Engineer calls to look at oven, no heat. Has to remove the cobwebs from the oven where it hasn’t been uesd for so long.
“Oh we usually rely on the Aga, but I thought it a good idea to have the oven repaired just in case the Aga fails or cannot cope.”
The above was from today only.
I had to close spares today as I was trying to run this business and suffer all those that wanted cooker shelves, lamps, filter charcoals, freezer baskets etc.
Why do they leave it to the last minute? we will have more of these as the week progresses I’m sure.

kwatt wrote:Interestingly, I thought SF had Samsung laundry so they’re not exactly going to be turning cartwheels at this news, but hey, life sucks, then you die. TBH though, it’s work SF should never have had in the first place and I did say this years ago when they went chasing 3rd party work
One thing that DSG don’t like and, Alex will back me on this, is being held to ransom, they’re the only ones allowed to do that in their eyes. 😉 Trubshaw will be remembered for his little ploy, trust me.
K.
I agree regards 3rd party work. If I want to carry out work for other makes, I like to negotiate directly. I know I work for ISDA but I can take it or leave it. I don’t touch Maytag for example. Yet with Service Force, because it is a big contract, we are obliged to go down the route of whatever they take on.
Trouble with DSG is, they don’t like it if we stand up to them, even if we are defending ourselves.
Is it an idea to drop a wink to Ian Spicer of D&G regards this site? He may be glad of the info for the NESN issue. I know he was having a meeting with Terese Eyton-jones at the Wimbledon office and it was regards NESN. She wouldn’t tell me any more.
