Did you put a genuine valve in.

Coil resistance should be 15 ohms

    Bob & Rachel

As you haven’t responded to my post I’ll Advise that the most likely cause is an error either with your Display module or your Power module.

Fault code 62 is an excessive pump current

The pump should measure approxiametely 33 ohms when cold, 40 ohms when hot, and open circuit when too hot.

The pump has a thermal overload that opens the pump circuit and subsequently turns the machine off when the pump overheats

It could be caused by a blockage and checking that the flow out of the hose gives a solid 1″ stream of water when your F&P pump is running is an indication that it is not blocked

If the flow is OK then feel the pump after running it for about 2 minutes (after the power is turned off)

A hot pump is the sign of a very common problem with F&P and you should cease use of the machine as it is used as part of your machines power supply and can cause major repairs if left to short out.

Replace the pump is the only possible repair if overheating

If this doesn’t help then post your email address or fax No. and I’ll send your more info dependant upon your response

Yes they are easy to replace but then I,ve done it a 1000 times.

    1/. Order the parts

2/. Wait till you have the parts before attempting replacement

    3/. Turn power off

4/. Disassemble in an orderley fashion

    5/. Reassemble in reverse.

Post here if you have any problems although I am going to the coast for the weekend so will be unavailable till Monday

Anyone should be able to supply or ph F&P 1300 650 590 24hrs for mailout of parts

    Probably $100 max for both

Note there is a difference between hot and cold

Should take five to ten minutes Max.

    You should allow 1 hr

    Cheers,
    Chris.

Great to get those stats as it fill me in on your bigger picture.

My rantings are therefore to a great extent uniformed however I proceed on the basis that if everyone sat and said nothing then none of us will learn, so thanks for your reply.

Can you post or PM when the mailout was.

I appreciate the watertight comment however again I’m proactive and this again comes back to where I posted previously that a manager would achieve things quicker than trainers.

Unfortunately waiting for those businesses to die out is never an option as there is always some new uninformed person to take their place.

Your proactive approach in having this website and it’s associated forums etc is certainly appreciated

It gladens my heart to here such effusive praise for the best bunch of guys who only want to give great service and who happily go without reward to assist the unfortunate consumer who has to put up with the same crap products that we do.

Moisture and a constant voltage (albeit low voltage) causes corrosion.

Your model will not require a condensation kit

Your replacement switch may well be a upgrade to get around this problem.

Certainly put grease or vaseline on the switch terminals after pushing these on if the switch is not an upgrade.

A piece of heatshrink tubing with glue lining (JAYCAR Part No. wh5602 or larger Ph. 1800 022 888) would be a better option as grease may disrupt the low voltage as would a spray on corrosion prevention product such as WD40

The trick with any damp situation is:

1/. Turn off at the wall after each use

2/. Avoid steam from dryers or hot washes or hot water.

3/. Fit a surge divertor as used on computer power plugs

4/. Ensure touch pad is not cracked

5/. Heat the room if condensation (steam) is likely to occur

A stiff nylon brush where corrosion is and a spray with a WD40 style product (I prefer Inox) can resurrect an electronic board but again beware of spraying switches.
