ParticipantRe: Card payment
Alternative, get Nochex to do a page for us that can accept the payments.. Not a problem… However, I would like to know what happens in that respect over the acceptance charge.

No Martin, a WCL is still required as the item is defined unwanted items and therefore waste for the purposes of the WCL but for the purposes of the WEEE and the T11 it becomes diverted WEEE if either purchased as goods or donated as a refurbishable gift. Trade-ins and Take-backs in are classified as WEEE until refurbished

Martin wrote:Did Ken not state (pages back) that unless you declare it as waste then it isn’t? So therefore matters not as to what, where or how their former property is destined once they surrender the goods into your hands?
This is not true.. If the customer declares that it is waste and you are being paid to collect it, then it is waste and therefore WEEE in retrospect. With regard to the destination; The destination must be shown on your transfer note otherwise you may end-up with a fine or the loss of a vehicle if the EA pull you over.

Yes.. Certain sites and shops are showing it as a 2yr warrantee, as per the link given .. All I am advising is to be careful and to check by asking at the point of purchase first.

I am still slightly confused as to what machine I should buy with my £500
Be careful and read the small print.. The link you gave shows:
2 Years FREE
3 Yr Warranty Washing Machine £501-£1000 £174.00
5 Yr Warranty Washing Machine £501-£1000 £276.00Allsorts

The WM14Q390GB Country of Origin is Spain and the unit does have a split drum that makes it compatible for bearing changes.
As for the quality of build I cannot comment, but at around £500 it only carries a 2 year guarantee, whereas (budget or credit allowing) for a little further investment the ISE carries a 10 year P&L warrantee

ParticipantRe: bleckmann or thermowatt
Just one point to make regarding the elements.. Elements can degrade over time when not sealed in a bag. Even if the bag is sealed but has a tiny hole the element can vacuum damp to its joints which will degrade the element if not stored in a dry situation.
Also, the next time you fit any element, check it for earth leakage before fitting it to your machine.

I advocate using a wet & dry vac for the procedure .. This usually works a treat on the likes of twin tubs and dishwashers.

A German built Bosch would be my recommendation too.. Unless you can again stretch the budget and get an ISE W256W which will then guarantee you get quality for ten years
